I had earlier commented that I would be spending about the same amount but truthfully looking at the lists of what I have to buy I would like to recant and say it is going to be less. Kids are probably getting some group presents and their rooms redecorated. I just don't think the holiday is all that whoopty doo this year. Stuff just didn't go on sale because retailers can't afford for them to go on sale- I question though- can they afford NOT to put the stuff on sale?

Heat went out (in the house), car needed to be repaired and truck needed new tires (thanks to a jerk running us off the road and us landing in a rocky ditch).
I'd like to say I'm going to spend less this year but that's probably not going to happen.

We are spending a bit less, but not because of the economy. We are going to hole ourselves up in a cabin this Christmas, so less presents.
