I saw this on a few sites as well.

If true, it's probably going to one of the few deals that will be truly "BF" worthy....and the lines should start sometime Wednesday. :P

Wednesday? You mean 11/14 right? lol You would have to be in line that early to get a $100 laptop:cheesy:

Heh...yeah, you're probably right.

It would start by 9 am on Wednesday in this area! :yup:

When I sold cars, people with no interest in buying or test driving would drive across the county for the free hot dogs and soda days. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/scaut_en.gif

I saw this rumor on a few other boards...I think it was just started on one board and spread...

Personally, I have real doubts on this being real.

I could see maybe a $300 laptop...maybe even a $250... but $100 is kinda of out there

Best Buy had a $250 laptop last year

And that laptop from BB last year for the $250 is remarkably similar to the one being bandied about at the $100 price.....which is, at least to me, a ridiculous price. I could see maybe $200, but $100 is probably below mfg. cost, much less BB's wholesale price.

As has been said.....this is a rumor that seems to have begun on FatWallet or SlickDeals...no corroboration has ever been shown about this.

I'll believe it as soon as I see it in print in a BB advert.

It would make sense to have a $100 deal if you wanted to draw the people to your store. It would be hard for any other store to beat a deal like this. Isn't that the name of the game, have the best deal? If it's true, we'll be in line this weekend!

With those specs, that laptop will choke on Vista (even home basic). That is an incredible price, but you're only saving less than $200 from what you can get on a good sale. That isn't worth 24 hours in line to get (at least not to me). But then again, I'm not looking for a laptop - I've got 4 of them already.

You would probably have to pay another $70 in ram alone to get it up to speed to where you would need to for Vista to run at least halfway decent..

Personally, if I got a laptop like this for $100, the first thing I would do is reload it with XP.

And MS doesn't make that as easy as it should be.

Last years ad was like this also. Then a few or a couple (I can't remember) they put a secret ad on their website with the big doorbusters that had the $250 laptop. So, even if the ad comes out we really need to wait for that other one.
