Christmas Picture Time

yes, I've already made my christmas pictures appointment. I just go to Walmart every year and get the basic package. I called them yesterday on a whim to just see if they were taking appointments already and to my surprise they are already filling up Novemeber appointments. They told me it takes 2-3 weeks to get back, so I made my appointment for November 21 @ 5pm. This way it comes back the second week of December. Plenty of time for me to get my notes written and the cards mailed out.

Has anyone made their appointments as yet? Always seems too far away to make appointments, but when it takes so long to get back, its worth getting them now. Holiday snail mail is the worst. I remember one year I didn't get the kids' pictures done till December and I didn't get them back till almost christmas. Won't do that again. My cards arrived right after christmas.

I like getting cards early as I hang them on the inside of my front door. All people's pictures they send me are on the fridge. I buy this magnetic tape at Walmart thats great for just that purpose.

Check Sears portrait website and you can see what deals they have and print out coupons. Also if you are a smile saver you do not have to pay a sitting fee. I have found coupons online and received the cd for 9.99 or it was in a big package. I hope this helps. Also, they sometimes have free 10x13 or portrait sheets for 2.99. It really depends.

Well were getting the kids pics done at 5:30 today at JcPenney. I so love it there and try no to get sucked into all the extras they try to get me to buy!:tongue1: We always went to Sears before they made me mad a couple years ago and I have not been back! I've never been to Wal-mart to have my kids pics done before. I can remember some pics from when Wal-mart first started photos and I thought they looked cheap. Has this changed cuz they got great deals on pics!:)

Jarerice...I understand wanting to save money, but copying pictures that you buy is illegal!

I don't think the Santa pictures are considered professional and I would copy them too. Who could afford to buy as many pictures you need for what they charge to have one picture with Santa. I guess Jarerice and I can be cell-mates :2drunk:

Our mall did let you take your own camera and make a pic with Santa, but they stopped that last year. We happened to go on Bring your pet night, and it was a nightmare! We waited in line FOREVER behind dogs getting their pics made with Santa. And some of the owners were being ridiculous about getting the perfect picture. I'm thinking, come on people, this is for the kids! The only person who looked more ticked off than my husband was Santa!

We have our pictures for Nov 25th at JcPenney's. I always have had good luck there. I went to Sears for my daughter's Bday. I will never go back. The pictures were horrible. They were not centered...the ladys hand was in one...another there was a shadow on her face. Then they wanted $7.00 a sheet for enhancements...like centering the pic. Then they tried to get me to order 200-300 dollars. You also have to watch the fine print on the coupons.. to get the 2.99 sheets you have to order so many pages at the regular price.

  • 3 weeks later...
I pick up my pics at Walmart on Saturday. I just pray everything turns out ok. When an employee has to call help desk to figure out what she did wrong, I tend to think something bad will happen! I just hope my pictures are there to even pick up! The girl took the pics, but when it came time to order in the computer, she had no idea what she was doing. After waiting for 15 minutes or so with her on the phone with her supervisor, she got it (maybe haha).

I took our pics of the kids while we were decorating our tree last weekend, did my adjustments, uploaded to Walmart last night and should be ready to be picked up today or tomorrow. We went to Walmart last weekend with ds4 to get our pic with Santa. They let you take your own pics and the ones I got with my camera were so good I haven't been back to pick up the one they took yet :tongue1:

I only do Santa Clause pics every year. I get one and then copy the rest.

Move over and make room for me. :cheesy:

It's starting to get a little crowded in this cell!! LOL :)

Yes, if you plan to give a santa picture to each grandparent, is it reasonable to spend $120.00 for 5 5x7's? Um. No. That's not even to mention aunts and uncles.

Looks like they need to open up a special scanner people's prison!
