He's in a snow club withschool and this is his 2nd year with snowboarding. How do I know what size to buy for him? mrn8 Posted September 11, 2007 Share Posted September 11, 2007 You really don't want a snowboard that comes to below your chin if it's standing up. Judging by his height and weight, I'd say he's still growing, so get him something in the 145-154cm range. Shorter than chin usually is good for tricks, at eye level is a very good all-around board length, and taller than eyes is usually for more advanced riders, but he'll grow into anything that height pretty quickly. He needs an adult board at this point, and even for a kid's board, 100cm is very short. A good place to start may be on Craigslist, though. I've seen lots of nice boards go for great prices and many of them include bindings and sometimes boots. Another option is to see if any kids in his club have outgrown equipment that they are now going to sell. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
