Both! We have four trees we light each year and all are either multi or a mix of color and white. Our white tree has white lights wrapped around the trunk while multcolor lights adorn the branches. The lit trunk brightens the tree to the point of looking angelic! Also, I love combining white lights with gold/yellow or red. One of my small trees is a mixture of twinkling white mini lights blended with red mini lights, with gold, silver, bronze and red decorations. Gorgeous!

white on the tree,..color around the door ways and white up the banister....then a mix outside,..

We also have both! Two trees -- formal one in LR w/ white lights and gold ornaments. Family tree w/ the kids ornaments and homemade ones etc and colored lights.

My family does 3 trees -
Mine has 1000 clear bulds and I have added a string of 200 blue, it looks amazinganother tree is all clear and the third tree is what we call "his", it"s a sad Charlie Brown tree every year (yes, on purpose) with horrible multi-colored lights falling and drooping all over it.[/FONT]
