shopping mom Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 DS 23 has asked for a lawn mower for Christmas. Does anyone know if these were on sale last BF or should I start watching now for end of summer clearances. I just need a push mower nothing to fancy, but I would like to keep the price down as low as possible.
Marcster Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Around here, Sears, Lowes and Home Depot sell off their grills and lawn mowers at the end of the season to make room for snowblowers. Depends on where in the snow belt you are I guess. I don't recall ever seeing a lawn mower for BF.
braggsalot Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I have never seen a lawnmower for BF specials. I think your best bet would be to get one at the end of this season. I am on the hunt for a new lawnmower too.
becalyn24 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Walmart within the next 3 weeks will clearance them out.
tishashop Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 We just went on the great lawnmower search today and I can tell you that every walmart in town was out of stock. Mind you we were looking for a self propelled but we ended up scoring finally at Sears with a craftsman regularly $430 marked down to $220! Good luck
shopping mom Posted August 10, 2007 Author Posted August 10, 2007 Thanks for the advice. I will have to start looking to see how things are priced here.
happyrat Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I used to like Sears, but I hate the last mower I bought there. I had it in for repairs under warranty several times for a gas leak, and it still is not fixed. What ever is left in the tank after I mow leaks out. Here lately it misses and hardly runs, and it has brand new gas I just bought. I think this year I'm replacing it with a Honda or something at Homedepot when the go on clearance.
zooskoo Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 We bought a rider at Sears two years ago on clearance and love it! Also bought a Honda push mower at Sears(again on clearance) and it's been great. My problem with the Lowes here is that they leave their grills and sometimes mowers outside all year, so by the time you buy it, it's almost like it's been used for a season.
debbha Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Home Depot has a couple of mowers that are priced between $170-$200 that are pretty nice. They are Yard Machine brand. We've owned this brand for several years and not had any problems.
Just Me Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I'm in the market for a riding mower. Plan to use a 10% off lowes coupon at either lowes or home depot. Does anyone know what qualifies as end of the season and when they start clearing them out? Thanks
