Dave_13
Up until now my landlord has given us a free window unit every summer. Now he wants to charge a 200 dollar seasonal fee. I will not stand for this and will have to suck it up and buy one. No used ones are in town. Does anyone know where I can get the cheapest, best window unit or portable air conditioner so I won't die this summer? Thanks

jax81772
We have a small one in our kids game room, its an add on and doesnt cool quite like the rest of the house. Got it at walmart for $88.00. It didnt seem to run up my electric bill to much either.

How big of an area are you cooling?
Sunshyne
We have one of the small ones from Walmart too, and it was great at our old house. Our central air didn't work reliably, and our landlord didn't want to pay to fix it. I don't know how big of an area you want to cool, but it kept the downstairs at a comfortable temp, about 500 sq ft.
