Venusaur Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Anyone have a good deal on a GPS? I don't want the absolute cheapest one that'll break after a month, I just wanna good deal on a good quality GPS:cheesy: Thanks!
mrn8 Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 There is a huge range of GPS devices out there for different purposes, so it would be helpful to know what you intent to use it for. Will it be in the car, used for hiking / outdoor activities? Generally speaking, you can't go wrong with anything that Garmin puts out. I've got a handheld Garmin that I use for hunting, biking, and backpacking. It's completely waterproof and always works for me.
mrn8 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Garmin is probably the best value and featured GPS for cars. I haven't dealt much with the off-brand GPS units, because they have not yet proven themselves. The Garmin c3xx series is the entry level for automotive GPS. The c330 is an excellent unit, and the price is probably right where you are looking. Check the prices here: http://gottadeal.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=7247527/search=Garmin%20C330. Abe's of Maine is a very reliable store and have it for under $260 shipped. Otherwise, it looks like you can pick one up locally at Circuit City for $299 + tax.
mssheba Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I brought the Garmin c340 car navigation system during Black Friday last year at Circuit City and I absolutely love it. It's very user friendly and I have not had one single problem with the unit. However, you might want to consider purchasing the additional warranty plan. My sister had a problem with her unit and Circuit City replaced it with a "new" unit, not a refurbished one. Good luck...
lovetodeal Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Have anyone heard about the Evesham Nav-Cam 7700 ? Today the woot.com has this model for $165 shipped. This deal will last tilll 12:00 AM Central time tonight or till item sold out.
neile457 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 just got a Garmin c330 for my wife for Mother's day. $249 plus tax, great price. I have a Garmin c550 right now and love it. For the price, nothing's better. Look at cnet.com for gps reviews. The other one that I considered for the price, was the TOMTOM ONE, most places have it for $299.
