dgagnon
I am trying to find catchers gear for my 9 year old. Any one have any idea where a good place to get a good deal. MC Sports and Dicks seem very high I am currently looking through ebay but thought maybe some one here could point me in the right direction. Thanks Heidi

Then if you register and post what you need someone there usually has something. If you can't figure it out, pm me and I will have my husband get in contact with you. Hope this helps. Our 10 year old catches and last year (age 9) we got him his first catching equipment. We did get it new at Dicks because they had an awesome sale and he is big for his age so we got the 12 year old set. But after 3 or 4 practices they look just like the used ones and our son was more comfortable in it at the end of the season so if I had it to do over I probably would get the used ones right away if I could get a deal on them. gingersunshine
try a used sporting good store like "play it again sports" or look in the yellow pages under used sporting goods. my kids play softball and all of their equipment is supplied except for their mitts. dgagnon
The equipment that they have issued has some major issues in our opinion the shin guard straps do not want to stay hooked and the league will not replace them until next year, I would feel better knowing that he is wearing safer equipment. Thanks for your other suggestions I will check into that
