i am emailing target and asking why their attorneys and their corporation allow something like this. i am appalled at what i am reading. i usually go to target everyday, but now i am going to feel funny in target, if i even go back!

i will post when and if i get a reply

Again, that is NOT a Target sponsored site. It is a Union site where they are trying to get Target employees to vent their spleen and organize a union.

Not to be ugly......

But I think this is their way to vent. We all have a way to vent. Yes, it is public, but it is their site. We know they have an opinion, just like they know we have one.

I really don't care!!!! If they want to whine and complain about me getting such good deals, oh well, the cashier's job is to take my money, that's ALL. So far I have not had any problems and I don't expect any.

I guess I am trying to say is that I don't care if they want to talk about me as a customer because when you get down to brass tax, customers are the reasons the cashiers have their jobs. They just take our money. I don't know these people on the target forum, so I say let them rant and rave because we still get great savings so matter how much they vent.

I agree, let them say what they want about people getting good deals. They forget that the company they work for are the ones who allow the consumer to get these deals. I can also partly understand some of the things they are venting about.

I've worked in retail and some of the things that customers do are just plain nasty. Which is why I left retail and sought employment somewhere that I wouldn't have to clean bathrooms that animals would snub their noses at, or clean pickles off a store window after mom and dad allowed their kids to toss them on there, or to have to clean up after some little brat whose mom thought it was cute that he pulled down an entire display that I spent 1/2 hour putting up. If the only thing a Target employee can say about me is that I've used to many coupons and got too much for free, I take it as a compliment. It proves I'm a smart shopper.

ok, first of all i did not post to get "ganged up" on. second of all if they need to vent they need to do it some where other than on line. third, i know that it is not sponsored by target, and fourth i pay good money every time i go in target and yes i use coupons so i fo feel that it is right for them to call thier customers who pay their wages names like they do. so get mad about my post if you want but i can also exercise free speech.i did not right this post to make anyone mad so sorry if i did.

Considering so much on the internet has to be taken with a grain of salt, AND that it sounds like this site was set up for the purpose of getting people to rise up and form a union, can we just suggest that perhaps some of the posts are not exactly true? If I was someone who wanted to form a union at Target, I would exaggerate my little heart out on the internet on a public forum so others will join in and perhaps, just perhaps, I could get that union started that I wanted so badly.

We all have freedoms...I love Target, have my good days, my bad days, have days where I do not care for a team member but I still go there because I like it. I frankly do not care if people in random places all over the Target world are complaining. I shop there because I like the deals and the products.

Im not going to get too involved in this topic, but all I have to say is..

Those employees are doing the same thing when the clock out. Clipping coupons and trying to make they're dollars stretch like the rest of us and trying to get the best deal possible. If they werent, they wouldnt be taking the stuff off the floor and hiding it in the back store room till they get off work, or taking a 15 min break to buy something before someone else does. (this is from what others have posted in the past).

IF they're not, then its they're loss and our gain. And if they want to type on that site how angry they are, cuz we're using coupons so be it. I'm the one who just saved $$ by just using my scissors. :)

They should be allowed to post whatever they want online. You're venting about them venting. If you don't like what they say, don't read it.

Second, as a Target team member, I agree with a lot of what they say on that website. However, some of the posters there are over the top in what they say so don't take it to heart. I have no problems with taking coupons at my store. What people don't understand is that, yes, the store does get money back from MANUFACTURER coupons. However, store coupons are taken from our store total. So when someone uses 20 store coupons each time, it DOES (indirectly) come from our pockets. Usually, our hours are cut because of people abusing store coupons. I'm pretty sure the Choxie coupons were posted so that customers could try different flavors. Instead, people are taking 60 at a time. How is that fair?

Oh and btw, some of you have been joining the TargetUnion forum and posting over there. Just wondering, what's the point in that? It's not a crime to use coupons. The Target employees who post there are venting about the people who ABUSE coupons. If you're not abusing them, why post there to complain?

I agree its a freedom of speech bt that site got nasty.I think it crosses the fine line of moral decentness .Maybe it shouldnt be viewed by the public.I have views on alot of things but would never stand up in a crowed room and express them in front of that person. Its just rude...As far as the free choxie coupon it should of stated limited 1 per person.PPl would of been less likely to come back everyday several times a day just for a free candy bar.JMO.

Now this I will disagree with. How many times have all of us used a second email address to get a second internet coupon to get a great deal? I would guess that just about everyone here has picked up and extra sunday paper for that 2nd rag shop or michaels coupon. Yes, people will still take advantage even if the coupon is marked limit 1 per person. Why else would we take our husbands shopping with us? To use the second coupon of course!!!

So why even bother coming back several times a day for a free candy bar? It's a candy bar, for goodness sake!

Also, that website got ugly because people from here have been going over there and posting things about how Target employees are "low-lifes" and get paid minimum wage. THAT to me is rude.

Whoa, this thread is getting out of hand quickly. Just remember that every major retail store has a website like this. just google. Do i agree with alot of it? nope. as a matter of fact, there may very well be some complaints about my buggy full of red stickers, with coupons to go with half of it. Guess what? just like you come home & vent to us or hubby about that rude cashier, they have the right to do so as well. Its no big deal. They arent saying Minnie Mouse form 123 main street in New mexico was the person who did it. Its all anonymous, thats the beauty of the internet. Its no big deal. read it or dont. But i will say it wasnt meant to be read by us, it is for the employees.

Let's calm down about this. I agree that it is an employees only site, but then again, it is a public site. I know that people have to have a place to vent, and of course, people that think they may be venting about them may get a little upset.

What really bothers me is that these employees are taking it to heart and actually admitting to violence against customers. In a normal situation, most entry level employees hate their jobs enough to stick it to the big boss. These cashiers are actually following out customers and possibly harming them, or at least scaring them to death, over a few coupons that the manufacturer will reimburse anyways... just for the big boss.

Don't let it get to you, these are anonymous employees with nothing better to do than blog about work. Gee, that's the kind of life I wish for.

Its interesting reading the employees comments and some are very nasty but there are alot on there that defend the customers and I applaud them for that. Interesting point that I wanted to bring up is the lack of editing on coupons, websites, ads etc that causes all the problems. We have all participated in buying something on a website at a fab price only to have the order cancelled after they discovered they made an error, where is the editing of your work to catch the problem before it goes out! For instance, the choxie coupon said one item per coupon, simple straight forward, one candy bar per coupon. What they didn't think through was that you can print out as many as you want. If you don't like it being used in that manner, place the limits on the coupon, like one per customer per day or buy one get one free etc. We are seeing too many misprints or poorly worded ads/coupons etc for it not to be an obvious problem that they can fix with just editing and rechecking it once its published.

I work for Target and have been on OUR bourd for a while now. The original post was about one specific guest who i did have the honor of being annoyed by. The gripe wasn't that she used cupons but the amount of them she used, and her overall attitude. Cupons are great I use them myself, but too many people abuse them. Using 70 cupons to get 70 items for free is only legal because it is a loophole. The 1$ off copun was made so that you could get that larger package of something a lttle bit cheaper, not so that you could buy 70 newspapers and get 70 smaller sized ones. Yes you can do it, but you shouldn't. Same for internet coupons. Don't you think there is a reason you need to supply an email address? Its so that you only get ONE coupon. As for the money we do or don't get we really don't care, its the fact of the matter.

I work the electronics dept of my store as a specialist so I don't deal with the coupons like some do, but I deal with people who come in and check the price of every item on my shelves trying to find anything with an inncorrect price. Why? Because in my state if a food item is marked incorrectly you have to give it to them for free. So people will come in and try to abuse that by trying to use it on a 1000$ TV and try to get 7 of them. Ad signs are another issue. If we miss a sign when we do our takedown and someone finds it they raise such a fuss that we have to give it to them at that price, legaly we don't because our signs clearly have dates on them. But people don't care about these things they just want something for nothing.

If you want to spend 4 hours clipping coupons from the paper cause your budget is tight go for it I respect that, but don't try to beat the system just to get extras. The customer is the reason we have jobs, but that doesn't mean they are always right, or should be able to get their way because they throw a temper tantrum like some little 5yo. We have the right to restrict quantities on anything we carry and we also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we want to. Those rules aren't there so that if we are having a bad day we can make yours bad too. They are there to protect you, and try to insure that you can get what you want. Too many people abuse the system and that is why we have to impose such rules. You all claim its your right to get 30 candy bars for free cause you got 30 coupons but what about the guy behind you? Coupns are becoming a nightmare because of it and they are going the way of the return policy. If people don't stop abusing them less stores will honor them.

I tend to agree with what some others said. They have a right to vent. We do it sometimes ourselves, come home and post about having a pain in the butt cashier or whatever. Yeah, reading some of it was kind of annoying, but then I wasn't really supposed to be on that site. I'm sure cashiers everywhere gripe about customers. I would guess it's a tough job sometimes. Just not everyone puts it in writing. I say..big deal. As long as I'm getting my bargains you can talk about me all you want!:D

I agree, everyone has to vent sometime/somewhere. And I agree that some Target customers are AceHoles. But there are AceHoles everywhere, we have them at work, at church, cutting you off on the highway. Anywhere you go, if you come in contact with enough people you are gonna see an AceHole.

My job involves alot of Customer Service, and a I have to deal with AceHoles too. We all do.

Its just a part of life, just don't let the AceHoles win.

And as far as Target employees go - I personally have not met a rude one yet.

I don't know why some are getting so upset with this website. It's not an official Target web forum. ANYONE can create a website, blog, etc and write whatever they feel to. Why even read things on that site if it upsets you? It is not representative of every single target employee. Unless you have personally encountered a problem with someone who works there, why would you let this bother you? There are many different people who work at Target with varied ages as well. For all you know, the site may be full of 17 yearold employees from one town. Who cares? JMO.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous but it's kinda like a train wreck.. I just had to look!! LOL

I did find interesting this post on the coupon board that is supposedly causing all the commotion..

" Re: What do Target workers really think of you and your coupons?

Lol - although I doubt they could've made good on their threat to "tear our forum up" I threw that other sites name out there - just to make things interesting. ;)

Bunch of troublemakers!!!

"I'm not expecting a good review. I peed on my TL's windshield when I saw his car at Home Depot. It was cold outside so the pee froze on. That and his kids were in the car at the time." = Gay for Target

This is a quote on how they treat their own management in Target - who cares what they say when we walk away!!!

Even if this is a joke, it is still no worse than what they have said about coupon users - minus the profanity!
