neanwe
Throwing a bday party for my 5 year old. I made the invitations, but am looking for decorating ideas, party favors, games, food etc. My dollar store doesn't have any star wars toys or decorations so if you see some on clearance somewhere, details would be great. Trying to do this inexpensively and creatively.
hjones47
A Star Wars party......what fun! You can take the skinny swim noodles and wrap the bottom with electrical tape to make a handle and then they can have a lightsaber dual! For my son's party, we went with solid red plates, cups and napkins and I bought the SW goodie bags. Our Target recently had the Darth Tater backpack clips 50% off and we bought some of those for favors.
Stowasser
Look around your house, I bet you have Star War items that can be used for decorations. You could also go with stars, planets etc too instead of the licensed items. Get online and copy off things your could tape around the house or put on poster board. I got the Darth Tater backpack clips but at Christmas for 75% off. Walk around Target and Walmart and see what pops up in clearance. I always type in the party theme I am after and see what pops up on the internet, alot of great ideas are floating around. I love the lightsaber ideal, could even do it with wrapping paper cardboard and have them decorate it as one of the activities, just buy star/planet stickers and markers, tinfoil etc for decorating or even colored tape. You could make your own Pin the helmet on Darth game by printing out a pic of Darth Vader and than printing helmets and cutting them out?
amyers12345
I don't know where you can buy them but I have a bunch. We were going to do it for DS a couple of years ago but changed it. I can't remember where I got them. Probably at WalMart when the movie came out.
Mommy2-3
You can make a light saber cake by lining up cupcakes 1 wide and about 10 long and then for the handle do 2 wide and 4 long...
tdanette
I wonder how many glow sticks it would take to decorate a swim noodle or gift wrap cardboard- maybe 4 taped to each and let them turn out the lights and be real jedi's! You might also be able to get some decorations for a cake or cupcakes from the bakery section in Wal-Mart or your local grocery store if you can't find them any other way- mine always lets me buy just the decorations to make my own. Plus if your computer is near by I bet you can stream some star wars music for free. I just found a site with some GREAT Star War themed games! http://www.amazingmoms.com/htm/party_starwars.htm
