nubeedeallover
DS is taking off his clothes and diaper every night! Well, I've started putting his diaper on backwards, but can't do much for the pj's. So, I have to go in and redress him after he falls asleep. Anyone know of anyplace that sells toddler footed pj's with a zipper in the back? Thanks!
christib327
I had this same problem with one of my boys. I always stuck him in zipper pjs (front ones) and then put a button down shirt over top of that. He couldn't work the buttons, so that worked for quite a long time. Just make sure that the button up shirt you put on him is big enough to still be comfortable over the pjs.
nubeedeallover
Thanks for the idea! You would think they would be easy to find-pj's with zippered backs, you know? I imagine this is a big problem for a lot of parents.
Kangaroo
Just put the Carters pjs on backwards. You can kind of twist the foot part a half of a turn so it is faced forward again.
nubeedeallover
Just put the Carters pjs on backwards. You can kind of twist the foot part a half of a turn so it is faced forward again. Well, I tried this one last night, as I had no button down shirts large enough to go over his pj's. I went in to check on him before I went to bed...well, little Houdini somehow got out of those pj's. They were inside out on the floor next to the diaper! He must have gotten out through the neckhole. There he was lounging naked as the day we met...He must have worked very hard to get out of it-I was just thinking to myself that we need to buy new pjs anyway, due to a growth spurt-they were getting small. Looks like I'm off to buy some bigger button down shirts!
Stowasser
Just curious, why do you think he is taking off his clothes like that? Is he hot? I don't remember the kids taking their clothes off, funny thinking about it though.
nubeedeallover
Just curious, why do you think he is taking off his clothes like that? Is he hot?Honestly, I don't know. He takes them off during the daytime too--and it's been really cold here in PA, so I don't think it's because he's hot. I've tried different pj's-lighter ones, thermal ones, etc. He takes them all off. I think he just likes being naked! And he's celebrating the fact that he can do it-take off his clothes and diaper. bfshoppergirl
What about the zip front with a snap over the zipper at the top? Target sells those, or is he able to unsnap as well?
nubeedeallover
Well, last night we went with a tshirt that's a little snug (not uncomfortable snug) and that worked! Phew--now what we'll do this summer, I don't know! bfshoppergirl-We do use those ones with the snap, he knows how to undo it. He's a crafty child. :) Thanks for all your suggestions! Stowasser
LOL Kids are houdini's, they can get out of most things. Its funny that your son strips, I would try to get my son to wear just a t-shirt and his diapers when it was hot but he insisted on having shirt, shorts, shoes and socks on all the time. LOL Now at 10, he runs around in no shirt and boxer underwear. The one thing they were not allowed to escape from was the car seat and was very lucky, they stayed put when in the car, yes they could unlock the buckle but they didn't LOL

Then I put the shirt over that. Our house is comfortable, so he never got too hot. My mom always thought I was nuts, but that was the ONLY way I could keep that child in his clothes! dani_58704
Putting the zipper pjs on, inside out, always worked for my boys. My nephew always took off his diaper, so my brother-in-law would put a piece of duct tape over the front. It worked for him. Just a couple of ideas that worked for us. Good luck! Good luck!Yeah, I've used the duct tape too! But I got a good laugh (not at you, but with you) about the pj's - my kids haven't stripped naked yet... ('course my youngest two are 18 months and just watch, they'll start doing this any day now..) Good luck!!! Seems like inside out pj's might be a good way to go?!
