HI. I am building a home and I have to purchase some major appliances, specifically a fridge. Does anyone know the best place to buy one?? I'm thinking Sears but if there is a better deal out there, I'd love to know. THANKS!!

We get all of our major appliances at Lowes. We've just always found better prices there and the service is really good. They usually do the discount thing if you buy more than one appliance.

You can go anywhere and look, find the best deal and go back to Sears. They should match the price with an additioanl 10% off. We are also building and will need new appliances. I spoke to Best Buy and they are willing to give an overall discount if we buy multiple appliances from them. Also Sears just had a deal last week for 20% off with no payments until 2010 (I think). They said they offer one big sale a month. Good Luck!

Thanks! The sears special is still going on as far as I know. I've been searching to see if I could find the same model somewhere else so they can beat it. Thanks for the info! This stuff is so expensive, we've gotta get a deal somewhere! :)

I'll check best buy also!

Just some advice- Go to each of the stores and not just look online. We just bought a fridge from Best Buy. The one online was $80 more than the one in the store. In store I was also able to get free delivery and they will take the old fridge away for free. Same thing with our dishwasher from last year. We saw one online at Sears but stopped at Menard's first for other stuff and found one we liked better and for half the price.

I'd try Lowes. A lot of times they have display models discounted. B/c they are the display models, the sales aren't advertised. We got an awesome deal of our fridge.

I just found a deal about a month ago at Lowes. Check in store bought an 1800 stainless fridge for half. Got 200 dollars off the dishwasher(clerance) and 100+ off the stove. Tax and extended warranty under $2000.
