Another Sams club membership question

Recommended Posts

My sister and I share a membership. We got it when she lived in our town. She never lived with us, but we were still able to get one to share. Now she lives out of state and we've renewed it for a couple years. This year she decides she doesn't want it anymore. My DH doesn't need the 2nd card, so wondering if I can get my mom on it with me? She lives out of state though. Not sure if I can buy one here and then she can go to her Sams to get her card? The rules state it has to be in the same household, but not sure how lax they are on it. I could say my mom goes to FL for the winter, or something?

Yes you can get her on it with you. I would think you probably would need to tell them that she lives with you at least part of the year though. My experience is that the cashier could care less lol. ;)

That is probably a good idea...just say she lives with you and get the temp card for her. Mail her the card. When she goes in to get the real card tell her to use your address and just claim she is on vacation or visiting family. I had no problem using my card in GA when I moved here.

Update:

Went in today and got a new membership for myself and told them I wanted to add my mom. Told them she was in Florida...didn't mention whether she was on vacation or leaving there. And they said she can just pick up her membership card the next time she stops at any Sam's club. Called my mom and she was surprised/happy I got her on my card. They had been talking about getting one, but hadn't yet. I'm betting she's gonna send me half the cost to cove it, but I hope not, it's kinda a delayed Christmas gift for her.
