theboyzmom Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Has anybody been into TRU since the holiday has passed? I've never done after Christmas shopping there, so I have no idea, but do they have any good clearance?? Anybody been there recently??
MandaJo111 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I went last year in late December or early January. My DD was due in Feb. I got tons of cute baby clothes for $1-$3 a piece. I also got a Baby Bjorn Carrier (Regularly over $100) for $21. They still had Christmas candy so I got a lot of that and send to my husband since he was overseas. I got over $300 worth of stuff and paid $42. I had 2 TRU gift cards for $25 each and I left with $8.xx on one.
elena_398 Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I haven't been there since right before christmas. I may head over to just check some things out. Also, with me winning a PSP, I want to check pricing on games
savaladez Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Been there Jan. 1st. Nothing on clearence. Waste of time.
RubyRed5 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I found LOTS of stuff on clearance there today!!! Lots of Barbie Fairytopia dolls discounted because of the new Fairytopia Rainbow Adventure[/I] movie coming out.
andylee1 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I went tonight and got the new pixter for 20.00 and a bunch of games for 2.80. My dd was really happy.
formernyer Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Last year they had their green tag clearance beginning on January 6th (I checked the date against a post I recalled at another forum). They were taking an extra 70% off any green tag (already reduced) item. I got some absolutely AMAZING deals. I also had a 25% off my entire order certificate (I have one waiting for this year too!). The sum of the two adds up to a 77.5% discount off of the already reduced prices. I'm waiting for the greet tag clearance to start up any day now!!!
DesiChick Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 i work at tru, and theres a lot of discounted stuff, u just gotta look around... theyre hidden in the corners of the store as far as video games, there some great titles on clearence for all systems from 5-15 dollars
theboyzmom Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 where did you get the 25% certificate???
formernyer Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 where did you get the 25% certificate???Each year at Christmastime American Express offers "first-come, first-served" Wish Certificates for discounts at merchants. Most of them are garbage, but the TRU and Amazon 25% off certificates are AWESOME! You can still buy them on ebay. The TRU certificates are selling in the $30 range, so if you're planning on spending less than $120 there it isn't worth it to buy one. The certificates are good until 1-31-07.
llydting Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 does anyone have any info on clearance items in Port Richey, Fl? i remember gettimg some awsome deals this time last year-- the green ticket sale, and then an additional percent off>> ? thanks so much!
aidansmommy Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I was at Toys R Us today and saw a lot of toy markdowns, but none as good as Target. Then I happened to notice a Kettler swingset for $50 marked down from $250! I bought it of course! Apparently, this was one from last year, as the employees were working up front putting up pics and price tickets for all the swingsets and outdoor equipment for this spring. The clearance swingset ticket was on a display for outdoor toys in the back near the bikes. There were others on clearance too, but everything else was all sold out.

droolbug2 Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 swingsets were sold out at mine!!! Looked around for other deals and didn't find anything on clearance. Oh well...really didn't have the money to spend anyway.
aidansmommy Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Droolbug2, sorry to hear that you didn't get a swingset. I am sure the only reason I got one was pure luck! I just had to share the deal in case someone else out there could find one!
