badarmybrad
Hey guys, just an update to clarify some of the posts. Macys did not "just buy" any of those stores like Hechts or Kaufmans or Rob May. They did not turn May company into a Macys region. What they did was merger with the former May company who owned all of those regional name plates. Ie: your Marshal Fields Kaufmans and Hechts were really all the same company, same registers, same lousey crappy private brands like JOHN ASSFORD and they all just used different names of the former stores they used to be. When Macys took over back in spring of 2005 (when they actually bought these stores) they decided its much cheaper to operate one name versus 10+. What people dont realize is they may have shopped marshal fields for years but it hasnt been marshal fields in YEARS! It belonged to the TARGET coporation before May company bought it (which is why they went under) and then Macys just did something nobody else had done! Change the name! But have no fear the company is doing horribly and treats is employees like myself like **** and is hurting big time so just stay tuned you will have a going out of business sale coming to a town near you shortly Im sure! Long Live NORDSTROMS!!!!
