OK, I'm new here, so please pardon my rant. Am I the only one who thinks that the read receipt pop-up when sending PMs get annoying after a while? It's nice to be able to track messages, but not only is it confusing ("Cancel"? Cancel what?), it is also a waste of a click (or a keystroke).

Please let me know I'm not the only one who finds this annoying...

(I made a trip to the vBulletin forums already to find out how to disable it, but that's up to the admins.)

Brad -

I see I'm not the only one, though I'm afraid the thread you linked didn't really solve anything for me! :D

Can we do something about it? Or should we wait until more people raise a stink about it?

Ok maybe it didn't work, I'll tinker with it another time.

For now you'll just have to suck it up and suffer :)

WEll aren't you just the bluebird of joy and happiness :tongue1:

I hate to be a devil's advocate here, but I really don't mind the pop-up asking for a read receipt. In fact, I like being able to know if someone read my PM (in case he/she doesn't reply to it).

Mark, you could still have it, most boards do, it just doesn't pop up in your face EVERY time you send PM, you can enable it though if you like the popups LOL!

OK, I modified the forum source code to no longer display the PM pop-up.

Instead there is a checkbox when you go to write a new PM. By default, the checkbox is checked, so if you don't uncheck it you will be requesting a receipt, just that the popup won't appear.
