Hi,

Just compared the 6400 to the E1505 that my husband bought last night at the mall. We paid $843.20 shipped. Now I see I need Microsoft Word and I need to buy a wireless router.

Dell sells the router for $45.95-$10 mail in rebate. I just hope he bought the right laptop for the high school senior. We also got a free printer. I consider you to be an expert on this so topic so could you please advise when you have a chance. TY

Hi,

Do you have an e-mail with the complete specifications? If you do can you copy/paste it here?

Depending on the other components, you got a luke warm deal.

Here's what I would have done:

1) Buy this laptop for $649.

2) Add Microsoft Works Suite 2006- Includes MICROSOFT WORD plus much more! [add $79] or buy Microsoft Office Students 2003 for $149

3) Linksys WiFi router for $49.99 AR with free shipping

4) Printers are cheap you can buy them for $29 - $89.

$777.99 with free shipping includes laptop, Microsoft Word and wireless router :)

I have a 3page printout from Dell that is also our receipt. I don't know if it's too late to change this order or not. They already lied about the estimated shipping date. I can borrow Micro. word and office suite if I have to. Also will have to download virus protection. Have you heard of pccillion? Dell suggested this one. Maybe I can buy the router for less at CC or BB. I really appreciate all of your help!
