Guest koby Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Hi, Just compared the 6400 to the E1505 that my husband bought last night at the mall. We paid $843.20 shipped. Now I see I need Microsoft Word and I need to buy a wireless router. Dell sells the router for $45.95-$10 mail in rebate. I just hope he bought the right laptop for the high school senior. We also got a free printer. I consider you to be an expert on this so topic so could you please advise when you have a chance. TY

Depending on the other components, you got a luke warm deal. Here's what I would have done:1) Buy this laptop for $649.2) Add Microsoft Works Suite 2006- Includes MICROSOFT WORD plus much more! [add $79] or buy Microsoft Office Students 2003 for $1493) Linksys WiFi router for $49.99 AR with free shipping4) Printers are cheap you can buy them for $29 - $89. $777.99 with free shipping includes laptop, Microsoft Word and wireless router :)
Guest koby Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 This really stinks Hate to admit it, but I don't know how to copy and paste. HO HO HO

Guest koby Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I have a 3page printout from Dell that is also our receipt. I don't know if it's too late to change this order or not. They already lied about the estimated shipping date. I can borrow Micro. word and office suite if I have to. Also will have to download virus protection. Have you heard of pccillion? Dell suggested this one. Maybe I can buy the router for less at CC or BB. I really appreciate all of your help!
RossMAN Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 I would cancel that Dell order, order this laptop online (expires today) and we can help you with the rest.
Guest koby Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 What is the 3yr on site economy plan for $160?
RossMAN Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 What is the 3yr on site economy plan for $160?That is an on site warranty.
Guest koby Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I am not really sure what that means. $160 more seems like a lot. Am I misunderstanding it?
