sissykus
I was just wondering if anyone else is trying to plan a child's birthday party now too? My son's bday is the 26th so we barely have time to breathe from xmas before we do the birthday party. I definitely distinguish between the two and treat both occasions equally. How about you? Are you dealing with this situation too?
ms_mckenna
My daughters best friends birthday is Thursday. Her mom is taking my Shelby and her Shellby and her boyfriend out to eat for dinner at a nice place. Then in January she is going to have a party for her probably a dance. That way Shellby has nothing to compete with and the evening will be focused on her. I am already ready to start helping plan another dance lol. racerfan
My DS' Birthday is 12/21 (Thursday) he will be 11. What we have always done is celebrate prior to his birthday (except for his 1st). We have had parties in October, November & December. This year we had a party for him on 12/16 (last Saturday). We always keep Christmas separate from his Birthday because we don't want him to miss out on presents, that would not be fair expecially since his Sister's birthday is in August. As the years go on, we will continue to keep it separate, since it was nice of him to come before the end of the year to give up the tax deduction Happay Birthday to you son. amberleigh2
I have to deal w/ two birthdays right after christmas too!! My son will be 11 on January 3rd & my daughter will be 6 on January 2nd. It is so hard to but we usually have family over on New years day to celebrate both, we make it it simple just cake & ice cream. Then we have birthday parties later on in the month for their friends. I hate that we have to celebrate later in the month, but they have never complained about it!!:)
jeninpa
I just celebrated my youngest DS's 3rd bday on the 12th and my oldest DS's 12th bday is on the 28th so believe me, I feel your pain, lmao. I have 2 DD who are a month apart (July & August) too, lol. I start Christmas shopping in February, lol, that's my secret! We make his bday just as great as the other kids. Just because he gets tons of gifts on the 25th doesn't mean he gets ripped off on his bday, lol. The funny thing is that I asked him one time if it stinks getting all your gifts at once, that it would be better to have them spread out and he said NO! He loves getting all the gifts in the same week, lol. We only do family parties so it might be easier for us too, lol. Good luck with whatever you do! 3cuties4me
YES! Sort of... lol! My oldest turns 4 on January 3. My youngest turns 1 on January 30 and my middle child (LOL) turns 3 on February 6. It's like birthday season around here after the holidays We are doing individual parties... with just us... on their actual birthdays. And then we are having one HUGE party on the 20th of January for all 3 with all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc...! Should be fun... ~ Erin (23y/o SAHM to 3 cuties ages 3 and under)
elena_398
My sister is going through what you are. My identical twin nieces' birthday is new Years eve. Not so close to christmas as yours, but close enough. Good luck
ccarson1972
DS3 will be 6 tomorrow(21st). I am having his party on the 30th. I have to have it on the weekend because of everyone's scheldules and this weekend is totally out of the question being the 23rd. I was going to have it on the 16th, but my dad and brother had a Christmas party(for work) to go to.
Melissa
My daughter will be 9 on Dec. 27th. We have her "friend" party a week or two before her actual birthday. This year, she had it on the 16th. Then, on the 27th she will get her gifts from family. It is celebrated the same as my younger daughter's birthday, which is in September. sherril
My dd will be 3 this Saturday 12/23. We had her party last Saturday 12/16. She is an only child and only grandchild on my side of the family so her birthday is also a special day. I can tell you from past expierences to not put the party too close to Christmas when they are little. They just dont want to open all the presents. They get too tired and too cranky which makes for an very unhappy child and unpleasent bday.
ajburlingame
My husbands birthday is the 26th also. We aren't doing anything real exciting for his though. My sons birthday is 01/21 and I just called today and reserved the church basement for his party. It isn't a real great time of the year for a birthday. cwillyg
Well lets see...DH is the 20. DD is turning 12 on the 21st. DS is on Jan 15 and DD is on Jan 16. We had my DD B-day party on Sat. Sometimes its a good thing that we have it then because alot of parents have Christmas parties to attend that they cannot take their kids to. Bonus for them. Free Babysitting. Not so good for me Lots of screaming girls...
