Have you looked at the DellE1405 for $784shipped it comes with vista update. I'm debating this

for soon to be college age daughter. Someone said the vista has to installed??? after microsoft

launches it on 1/30/2006. Hope this helps but I'm still confused. There are upgrades that Rossman suggested also.

I got this laptgop yesterday. There is also a 640m with the same exact configuration with a 160gb hard-drive and dell wireless instead of the Intel pro wireless for 803 + tax.
