lxlary91 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Hello everyone, I know it is a little late, but I was able to get the 42" Panasonic Plasma HDTV that BestBuy had for $999.99 on Wednesday. After much research I had decided to buy the tv on Wednesday, for $80 more after taxes. I would rather spend time with my family, and be warm, then save the extra $80. I was going to price match with Walmarts price of $1,294, and then buy the $99 Directv HD box, and get an additional $250 off (HD advantage deal). Plus the $80 was made up for by the fact that BB had 0% interest for 18 months. I was made aware that I could not price match and get the extra $250 off. I told the sales girl that I worked at WM and that I could get the TV for $1,294 plus 20% off (holiday bonus), and that I guess I will buy the item at WM. She asked if I was still interested in the Bose 321 unit and the Directv HD box, which I replied no to. I informed her that the only reason I was going to get the tv at BB was because of the 0% for 18 months, and that if I can't get everything at the prices I was expecting, that I was not going to get anything. I told her that exact same tv was going to be $999.99 of Friday, and that I might just come back and buy it then, but that I would probably just go to WM. The same sales associate at BB had seen me come in and answered questions for me, 1 of the 6 times I came in researching the product in 2 weeks. Since I knew, she knew I was very serious about buying the item, and in fact she approached me Wednesday as I came back in to see if I was ready to buy, I asked her if I could get the TV for $999.99. I had brought print outs from WM, CCity, and Tweeters, and BB TV advertised items. She took my copies to the manager to see if she could do the $999.99. She came back a few minutes later to say that they were not sure how many of the Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV's they needed to have on hand. I showed her the BB print out, and hte fact that they only needed 5, and that they had 18 in stock at the time (I had seen on the comp). Needless to say, a minute later she came back and I was getting my TV for 999.99. At check out I questioned the fact that the screen said $1,094, and she said that an email was brought to her managers attention after they okayed my price of $999.99. So the tv came in at the price, but other items were discounted so that the total price ended up the same. Works out for me, and I can not complain at all. I was able to enjoy my thanksgiving and my tv, and be warm. However, as a BB associate was loading up my truck a few early early birds yelled at me about how they will be able to get the same TV for less than me, and another person said 1/2 price, in which I replied, little do you know..lol. On Wedneday at 5pm, there were 30+ people lined up at this Centeral Valley BB in CA. I hope everyone was able to get what they wanted today,
thesaintjim Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I walked in around 1 and asked for that tv. They special ordered it as they were out of stock. Will be in on the 29th. I got the 999 without waiting :)

I got the 999 without waiting :) They had 5 of these lined up around 1:30pm at my store. I ended up with the Insignia 27" hdtv for my room. It was reg. $359 but he knocked off $20 since he had to order me one. It comes with a $80 rebate so it will be $259. I have to come in on the 1st and pick it up. We had decided to not buy a tv. I really wanted to 32" lcd but of course they were gone. lol. Once hubby started shopping, he decided to go ahead and get it.

batojefe Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Nevermind- your post answered by question. I still am kicking myself for not doing that.
Cemea Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I got info from Brad that I could try to call some stores to price match the BB sale. Tweeter would not match the sale, but would give a $300.00 gift card for a future purchase. I called Sears a few times to see if the sales associates had the same information (they did). I dragged myself out of bed got to Sears at 4:45am, waited in the car and waltzed in at 5:00. I showed them the on-line BB ad and got 2 of the Panasonic TV's for $999! I got another $50.00 off of each TV's for their price match guarantee. I was done by 5:15. My husband is a believer that I know how to get a great deal
