amani Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I just seen the commercial for this 52" TV at Wal-Mart advertising for $454 regular price $900 I seen a few workers at the Wal-Mart putting them in lay-away last month and I asked them are they going to be on sale. My ex-favorite Wal-Mart employee looked me dead in my face and said she didn't know why "all of sudden" her fellow employees were putting those TV's on lay-away. At that point I should've listened to my other voice and I should've jumped on the wagon and put the darn TV in lay-away. I can just kick myself. Oh well maybe next. 2 more days until the big day :trampolin
littlemama Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 There is no way that they would have known about them being in the secret 8 sale. We would have heard it here a lot sooner than today..... Anyway, every store is probably getting a new shipment with a minimum number of TV's. I also read that this year employees can't have first picks or "hide" items.

The worker was even putting one on lay-away, so that's why I think they had some idea of which TV would be on sale.

Walmart is phasing out layaway. Don't worry, they won't advertise the sale and not have them on Friday morning. You might be waiting in line for a while, but they will have some.

amani Posted November 22, 2006 Author Posted November 22, 2006 All the TVs that I seen had lay-away tags on them with names. Bonus secret to us, but to them, no secret at all. Oh well another good deal flew over my head. :)
mccabefamily29 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Just because it was leaked this month doesn't mean it was not a back up plan from day one. They could have purposely left stuff out because of what happened last year.True, but if this was the case I doubt they would let the workers horde the big item. I worked there for 5 years and they never would have let us get away with that.

Oh well maybe next. 2 more days until the big day :trampolin Another side to this is that they may have been doing it in anticipation of the extra 10% we get off of one item at Christmas. And since LAW being closed they probably just wanted to get them on LAW before it was done. Believe me, "regular" associates DO NOT know ahead of time when something is going to beknocked down in price. Most of the time I really don't think management knows either. Possibly District or regional management, but at the store level, no. Most everyone I work with found out the regular BF deals ONLINE way before we were finally even allowed to see the ad, which was last Thursday. Of course by then everyone already knew what was going to be on sale. At my store you are absolutely not allowed to hoard anything OR get any of the BF deals ahead of the customers, or while you are working etc. That is grounds for termination.
shar6576 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 their is another thread posted about rca product dependability, you might want to read this ,im sure you will change your mind about wanting one.
LadyIzShy Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 there is NO WAY WM would allow ANY employee to get sale items ahead of time. If they found out they would be former employee. say what you want about WM but I love the deals I can get there. I never ever have troublesgetting special buys and rollbacks. never been disappointed on BF either. idoubt I will be this year
littlemama Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 The RCA sucks anyway. I saw it today and it really sucks.
