elbow1 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 The best deal I am able to find for the c340 is $430 from amazon.com. I am wondering if anyone knows of better deals. Also, I am wondering if prices will go down on or after black Friday. Does anyone know? Thanks.
USC Becca Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I don't see it cheaper at the moment from anywhere I've heard of. As for Black Friday, unless they are in the ads themselves, we have no way of knowing what manufacturers and retailers will do with their prices.
RossMAN Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 $430.99 is a great deal http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000A5TAT2/ I also found it for $454.99 and $468.88 Are you sure you need the Garmin c340? My wife and I bought the Garmin StreetPilot c320 earlier this year and we love it. The c320 meets all of our needs and is only $268.82http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3556743 Garmin has a comparison feature to see how the c320 and c340 stack up against each other:http://www.garmin.com/automotive/compare.jsp
elbow1 Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 I thought the c340 would be better because it speaks the street names and there is less need to look at the display. Also the maps are preprogrammed. I was just looking at the black Friday deals for circuit city at blackfriday.gottadeal.com and it lists the c340 for sale at $349.99. Even with tax, that's a better deal than amazon. I wonder if Amazon will lower its price?
RossMAN Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 CC's $349.99 BF price is great but you may need to wait in line for a few hours. Just something to keep in mind. Obviously we can't predict when prices will fall but they will eventually as newer models are released. If you can wait a few months the MSRP might drop to $375 or so, that's only a guess. Why wait? Buy it for $349.99 on BF and enjoy it immediately :) Our c320 doesn't pronounce street names but it does speak "turn left in 400 feet" which is still useful.
elbow1 Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 Where on the windshield do you place the street pilot and does it obstruct the view from the driver seat? Does it go under the mirror? Thanks

ThanksFirst I would see if your state has any laws against mounting the GPS on the window, I know CA has some laws. I mount it right in front of me to the right a little. It doesn't really impair visibility since it sits low and is small.
elbow1 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Today it is down to $400.89 on Amazon with the 5percent discount good until tomorrow. So I think I am going to go for it and not wait for a better price which may never come. Will the street pilot also work if it is placed on the passenger seat or on the center console?
