CarpeDiem Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I have this tv I bought from Costco though, I love it!
BCBGirl Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 These are supposed to be the best in HD, that's what my boyfriend told me.
Gurnee Al Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 How do you refurb a LCD TV? Maybe these are just re-packaged returns?
the4aileys Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Has anyone purchased one of these tv's from Geeks? They were 675.00 a couple of days ago.
jetsetter Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 From their website, it talks about the (possible) condition of the TV. Grade B - Monitor is in Great Condition Has slight Cosmetic Blemishes, examples of which are (but not limited to): Slight Scratches in case Slight Scratches in the screen Hairline Crack in Case Dead Pixel (3 or less) Missing Control Door Slight imperfections in the AGAS (Anti-Glare, Anti-Static) Coating
sagesage Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 They now have 2 promotions going, the first is the $1.99 shipping. The new promotion is a free 60" t.v. stand promotion code is freestand but the $1.99 shipping offer doesn't apply. Shipping for me would have been $94.00 so really if you want the stand it is only $92.00 more Here is the link for the stand: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SPT60&cm_mmc=landingpage-_-STANDUP_-15nov06_STANDUP-_-STANDUPmain
sagesage Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Big update they now lowered the price to $679.99 and you can still get the free t.v. stand by using the promotional code freestand and both are now shipped free.
Maca54 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 This seem like a great deal to me, especially when you consider you're getting it w/o taxes, shipped free and it looks like they're throwing in an awesome tv stand. My only question would be that I'm not going to be hooking this tv to an hd cable box for a few months when I get direct tv, can you hook an hd tv directly to the wall with a cable wire? If so, is the picture ok??? Thanks in advance!
zodden Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I don't like this deal because it may have scratches on the screen or dead pixels. If there are scratches on the case who cares, but on the screen? Its kind of risky imo, although its a very good price.
kush165 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Just got mine, and it looks great! No dead or stuck pixels and no visible damage / scratches. Honestly, I thought there would be something obvious since it was returned by someone, but was willing to accept less than perfect for the price. I did not get the stand yet, though. Have to check into that.
RossMAN Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 kush165, Congratulations and what a deal, 37" for $699 + $2 shipping. Now I wish I had ordered one. Are there any cosmetic blemishes at all? Can you take some pictures of the LCD?
jeremipdx Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I purchased one on Thanksgiving. It was 679.00, free ship, and free stand. Everything was here within a week. It looks perfect, I thought forsure there would be a chip, crack or scratch. Nothing, and the image quality looks great!
