$189 PC? Decent deal or get T6536 for $220?

Is it better to get the T6536 that BB has on close-out for about $220 (but no monitor):

or the $189 PC that is the doorbuster on BF?

The T6536 has DOUBLE the memory (1GB vs 512k), and DDR memory costs atleast $50 for $512k today, it has a DVD-+RW drive, vs a DVD-ROM (add $30+ for a DVD-RW), and DOUBLE the HD space (250GB vs 120 GB).... (add in another $30+)

Lastly, the T6536 comes with Windows Media Center 2005 installed, AND you get a FREE upgrade to Windows Vista PREMIUM Edition, as opposed to getting XP Home (and Vista Basic Upgrade).....

But the $189 PC has a 15" LCD (which I really dont want/need....who the **** wants such a small screen?).

So the way I figure, IF I wanted the LCD, which I dont, I get the $189 PC, else get the T6536..........

Opinions?

You might be better off with the T6536 on closeout. But then again, you can go for the $189 PC and eBay the monitor for at least $50. That would bring it down to at least $139

who pay 50 bucks + shipping for a 15" when they can get a 17" at BB BF for 70-80? you know how much it cost to ship out a monitor?

i say wait and not get either. celeron D isn't that fast anymore... save up and get a core 2 duo combo for those dual core chips.

ofcouse who's gonna use the computer is the main quesiton... if it's not a tech savy person then it's ok... for you and me we'll always tries to upgrade, it won't work out for us.

do what everyone did last year, the package comes seprete,

3 boxes

1 Computer

1 Monitor

1 Printer...

IF they take the rebates off the Computer, than it's practicly $50 or less...

Return the rest of the package two weeks later

THATS HOW YOU SAVE MONEY

let's be real here, would u buy the 15" LCD for 50 bucks + shipping? if so get in contact with the OP after black friday and help him out.

I won't no, because I'm actually planning on buying two emachines. Thanks tho! But I do know those that would like a flat screen lcd that would pay for it, cuz they couldn't afford twice that for a bigger one.

Do you think this would be a good computer for a beginner? $189 is dirt cheap....could there be a catch?? lwj

Emachines are good computers. I will be buying my 3rd one this year. The only reason that I am buying another one is because I'm going to put my old computer in for the kids to use. And I will have one with a bigger hard drive to play the games I want on there and other things. :yup:

And based on some research on the BB site, if it is the E-machines 352, the PC itself would normally retail for $364.99

And this computer does have less memory (512K vs the 1 Meg for the other machine), does include a PCI-Express slot (thank godness - since the Video card in this machine is a tad harsh if you plan to play any decent NEW games with it - and thus get the ATI 1600X for $99 that is offered as well) and does have a CD-RW drive but not a DVD-RW.

Alright...talk to me like I'm an idiot. I see in the ad a CPU and 15" moniter. Does this mean no keyboard, no mouse, no speakers, etc.

I would like to get my kids (12,9, and 6) a computer that I am not going to cry my eyes out if they tear it up. Would this be a good one??
