momof5plus1hubby Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I usually start the night before...I bake the pumpkin pies and make the potatoe and bread filling. So that way I can just throw it in the oven and watch the parade LOL.
ms_mckenna Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Depends on what I am going to cook and who all is coming over. If DH does not fry a turkey I put the turkey on that night. I will make a cherry cream pie the night before too. Occasionally I will make the casseroles so I just have to pop them in the oven the next day.
ccarson1972 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I usually make all my desserts(pies, pumpkin roll, etc.) the night before. I also cut up the celery and onions and tear up the bread for the stuffing the night before. Then around 9ish in the morning I prepare the stuffing, clean the turkey, stuff it, and pop it in the oven. Throughout the day I start getting side dishes ready to be cooked.
Turtle Mommy Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I bake the night before usually. Thanksgiving is at my MIL's house so it is a lazy day at my house! LOL!
elena_398 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'll be making my pies the night before. Turkey will be in the fridge awaiting the oven. From there, its the day of
Melissa Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I make the pies and DH makes the stuffing the night before.
sns128 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Since we are doing Thanksgiving at my sister in law's this year. I'm making everything the night before and then just transporting it on Thanksgiving day to her house.
lillybee Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Most of the cooking is done the night before thanksgiving.
Gator Pam Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I start making relishes and such on Monday.
Firemansgal311 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I start a day maybe 2 ahead. If I am making alot which looks like I will be this year it'll probably begin Tuesday evening. I think I am making potato salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, 4 or 5 pies, and a trifle. I think I am going to be cooking for about 25 ppl. Sil is making roasting hens, mil is making ham, sil's father is making a fried turkey. So whatever else is to be made looks like I am going to be the one making it all. So the list will probably grow.
