brian Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 The toshiba laptop at BB says 256 MB RAM. Do any one know if I could add Memory and if so how much? Otherwise i find this as good a deal http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?CS=19&kc=19&oc=i1000R1 Brian
RossMAN Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 At a guick glance I would buy the Toshiba over the Dell Inspiron 1000. Toshiba offers 1 year warranty, Dell's standard is 90 days ($14 for 1 year mail-in) Toshiba has 15.0" display vs Dell 14.1" Dell offers a free TrueMobile 1300 802.11b/g WiFi card With the Toshiba you can have it in your hands tomorrow morning if you're willing to get in line around 2-3AM.
brian Posted November 25, 2004 Author Posted November 25, 2004 What about the memory expandability on toshiba? is it possible. Brian.
RossMAN Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Brian, Yes it is possible to upgrade the Toshiba's RAM. $499 Toshiba laptop specs and additional RAM.
Fireflyfrommi Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Last year, you could upgrade the ram when you bought the Toshiba computer at Best Buy. You paid for it, they gave it to you and then you came back and took it to the service department and they installed it for free, if you didn't want to do it yourself. It was a good deal, I want to say about $40 for 256. Lisa
samcasey Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I know some BBs last year gave out free 256MB upgrades to the first few people in line who bought the Toshiba laptop. It was very few, like 10 or so. But it's very nice.
RossMAN Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Lisa that is a good deal considering $40 includes labor for installation of the RAM.
venerdinero Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I would gladly purchase it and self install for $40 for 256mb of notebook ram!!
