This will be my first time shopping the Black Friday deals. I will be going to Bangor Maine from Canada and want to know if anyone can give me some tips on the best way to get the deals. Should we split up and each go to a different store? Do people line up early? Where, typically, are the best deals at?

Well, the best deals depend on what exactly you're looking for. You have to check the ads and see which stores have the best deals on what you're looking for. Also, the lines depend on your area and what time the store opens. Like for people in small towns, they usually dont have to go really early because there isnt a lot of people to compete with. Also, when my group does BF we always go as a group to each store. That way we can team up to make sure everyone gets the best deal. The only case we would split up to different store is if there were doorbuster deals at two stores that we both wanted. HTH!

I'm going down to Bangor from Canada as well This is our 5 year running! Like the previous poster said, if there's something we really want that's a doorbuster we'll usually "Divide and Conquer" if not we find the store with the most doorbusters we want and get in line early.

 

Bangor is pretty tame compared to a lot of other US cities. I think you'll find anywhere with computer deals to have the longest lineups, like Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart.

 

We got in line around 4:30am last year for the great buys at Staples and had no trouble at all, they actually let us stand inside the front doors where it was heated until they officially opened at 5am!
