Holy cow the possibilities are endless!! My daughter had a dora game, don't know which one but you tired to get jewels everywhere, she had a little trouble getting boots to jump on the high parts, but maybe something like that...

They have all the Disney princesses, Anything Nickeloden, my kids like Spyro.

I am going to Ebgames and getting my son (he is 2) a Gameboy and a few games. They will be used, but if he doesn't like them it won't be a huge waste of money LOL.

My daughter is 6 now and she wants the Bratz games. Still have to get those. Of other characters, she has Disney everything (princess game, finding nemo, etc). She also has a game Chicken shoot, Nick games, and spongeBob

I haven't been but I was told that right now EB Games is having a buy 2 get 1 free on their used games. Might want to check it out for your little ones. I plan on getting my ds (3) some games there.

My son was 4 when he got his gameboy last year.

Dora's Super Star Adventure, Franklin the Turtle, Candyland/Shutes and Ladders/Memory are his favorites. I recommend looking for the Early Childhood rating..they tend to be easier to play for the little ones.

I would aslo recommend the GBA Video's (several on sale right now at Circuit City - less than $5 for SpongeBob and Nicktoons titles)

My dd now 5 has had her GBA since last Christmas. She has the Disney Princess game and 2 of the Dora games. She has since moved on to her older sister's Pokemon games, but those were great starter games for her. She could play them alone with no help from me.

My 4 1/2 yr old daughter has a Cartoon Network game that plays about 4 cartoons,Tony Hawk and she had a looney tunes game that she seemed to like for a little while. But she wants Strawberry Shortcake and Dora now.Good luck.

You've gotten some good recommendations. Any of the games based off of kid's movies are generally easy enough for a 4yo to understand and enjoy. Sonic is also a big hit here, my 4yo is getting some games for his handed-down SP(older son is getting a DS for his birthday) for Christmas too.

The cartoon cartridges are iffy, IMO. They graphics aren't very good, and unless you have the headphones for the SP, they're hard to hear.

My 3 yr old has Dora the Explorer Search for Priate Pig's Treasure and I'm sure she doesn't do everything how it's supposed to be done but she doesn't get frustrated with it either and she really seems to like it. She even thinks she is "winning".

Late to respond but my 8 year old has a game boy and the youngest(4, 3 at the time) wanted one last year, we opted for the leapster hand held game wonderful for learning and can hook to the tv and my 8 year old wants one now. They range from pre-k games(link leappad letters and numbers) to 4th grade games that are harder but still educational. Also if you get from TRU you can get a warrenty and they replace it if it is broken.

We bought an educational toy for the older one that they can both use (they're only 2 years apart) so I don't feel to bad there.... the little one really thinks she wants a game boy and if they're really 30 bucks on BF it is good for us... we were thinking of going for the new DS but thought... hey we don't have to buy a bunch of new games because we already have a bunch she can play.... we just get her 2 or 3 and we're good !!!

I do have a question though.. does anyone know how the linx cables work? Do you both have to have the same game cartidge for this to work? or does only one person have to have it?

we have the link cable it only works with some of the games. we got the 3 in one cable. it can link 2 game boys or they can be link to the game cube (got it from game stop for $8). the games usually say if they can be used with the cable. the games we got are the pokemon games and zelda four swords, but i know there alot more. you need the same type games like pokemon firered and pokemon leafgreen can link together to battle or to do trades. most pokemon games can be linkedtogether but you need one game in each game boy for it to work.
