That is what I want to pick up on BF this year, I hope there are some good deals on one and at BB would be good so I can use the BB bucks.

LCDs/Plasmas are going to be hot items this holiday season - I would be shocked  if they aren't a featured item at most electronic stores this BF.

I agree. I think flat panel TV are the hottest thing out. I sure hope there will be some good deals out there. I was really looking for a 20" to 26" LCD for my bedroom and a 42"-ish Plasma for our living room.:2woot:

I agree that HDTV's are going to be hot this year. I'm hoping for a 1080p LCD for just under $1,000

No new info, however, I am an avid tech guy and can recommened the review site www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com or www.lcdtvbuyingguide.com to check up on what is the best of the best for the "best" tv's.

If I see any one of the the top tv's on sale on balck friday...I might have to twist the wifes arm!

Thanks. I've been looking for a good LCD TV review site. I will definitely get one on BF or shortly thereafter. It will be 37 to 40 inches to fit in my wall unit. I'd like to go with 1080i but I supect it will be a bit too expensive. I'll probably end up with 720p.

I'm hoping for a 1080p LCD for just under $1,000

If that happens, I may not be able to resist, despite telling my wife when I bought my projector in May that I wouldn't ask for an HDTV for quite a while.

ok, im looking to get a Plasma or LCD TV probably somewhere between 32-42" ($1000-$1500) Any idea which is better to shop for and where would be a good place to go on BF to get a good deal, and that has good selection on one? Or should i just do it online? Anyone know of any previous TV deals from last year so i have an idea of what might be possible this year? Thanks

Welcome to GottaDeal, Foolsjoker! Posted Image

BF is a great time to buy a TV. In additon to Sears, Best Buy and Circuit City, you'll also have Staples, OfficeMax and Office Depot to choose from.

A 1080 may be a bit too expensive for me, but if the prices are low enough, I'll go for it. I'm not convinced that my eyes will be able to tell the difference anyway. :)

Well, bad news, my tv went out in the bedroom. I need it to sleep, it mutes out other sounds. I know sounds crazy, but........anyway, should I wait for BF or buy now. Not looking for anything fancy just tv. I had planned on buying one of BF to put in living room and move it to bedroom, did not even know it was going out. DH says DUH haha you leave all three tvs on 24/7 how long did you think it would last. Sorry I am off track and rambling. What do you think????

There have been some great deals on smaller 19' - 27" TV's. What's your budget? What size? 13, 19, 20, 25, 27, 32?

If you can wait until BF, you should be able to get a better deal, maybe even on a combo.

You know I have never purchased a tv, family members always gave us one for holidays. I guess a 25 or 27 would be sufficient for the bedroom. I will have to research ads and see what they are going for now and reg. price at different places. I know I will buy the wrong thing if I dont ask question and get input on this here first. thx for the reply.

Your Welcome!

FYI, I believe nearly all 720p televisions have 1080i (i = Interlaced)...1080p (p = progressive scan) however, is "true" high definition, due to the resolution of 1920x1080...I believe Westinghouse has a 42" plasma at a true 1080p for around $2200 now and its of good quality

I think I'll be looking for one too. Went to Best Buy last weekend and saw some great clearance priced big screens that also came with good sized gift cards (largest being $175). Come to think of it, lots of the clearance electronics had them too though much smaller. It's going to be hard deciding whether to get one now or wait... can't wait to see the ads.

Also in the market for a new 37 or 42 LCD or Plasma, but was wondering if they are sold mainly as a few per store and you have to get there hours B4 the open to get in line? Any opinions on that? With a 4 and 8 yr old it may not be worth the wait for us. Thanks D

Thanks for your reply. But was wondering if anyone knows if they would most likely be the items that they hand out tickets for inline hours B4 the store opens,or just regular open stock? D

My guess is that larger TVs will be on sale, but won't be at doorbuster prices that will require tickets. If any TVs turn out to be ticket items, they will probably be smaller ones and probably not the big name brands like Sony, Sharp, etc.
