mrn8
Are you asking for a knife block set? Chicago Cutlery is probably the absolute best value when buying knife sets. Here's a large set for $149 -$25 Coupon to make it $124.: http://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Cutlery-Insignia2-18-Piece-Sharpener/dp/B000H6VH1S/sr=1-18/qid=1160490245/ref=sr_1_18/102-8700548-1333733?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen Those are the one's I use for everyday stuff. They are very good and hold an edge for quite a while. I have a nicer set of knives that I use for preparing foods when I am having a party or serving a large group, but those are never really on sale. I'm not very good at sharpening with the included sharpener, so I got one if these: http://www.amazon.com/OZITECH-Diamond-Fingers-knife-sharpener/dp/B000F8SIOW/sr=1-2/qid=1160490412/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-8700548-1333733?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden
Marcster
I'm not much of a cook, but my Dad is... He buys a lot of stuff from Amazon, he says they have the best prices.

RossMAN
I've seen a good knife set with block and possible scissors at CostCo. Next time we go (this weekend, hehe) I'll check out the specs and price for you.
threelittlecupcakes
I'm not very good at sharpening with the included sharpener, so I got one if these: http://www.amazon.com/OZITECH-Diamond-Fingers-knife-sharpener/dp/B000F8SIOW/sr=1-2/qid=1160490412/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-8700548-1333733?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden Thanks for the tip. I just ordered it. I have the Chicago Cutlery and I hate them, maybe this will change my mind. Cheaper than buying a new set.
sapphire
ross thanks very much i dont think i will go over 150, unless its of GREAT VALUE or something, but i want a name that is GOOD...the set i have now is rusting in my dishwasher so i need a new one...i like the wood block too he'll sharpen so that part i'm not too worried about thanks mrn8, i have a fear of knives, i will cut things but i wont even clean them, that sharpener looks like it would be ok even for me
ReallyNeatGirl
I actually have the Ronco knive, the ones you see on tv. I am much more impressed with them than I thought I would be. In fact, in three years the only piece I need to repalce is the scissors. which reminds me, I SHOULD get a new pair for free.
