smangham
It's been awhile since we've had a toybox, but I loved Litttle Tikes. They had one that was shaped like a football and it was durable and you didn't have to worry about the lid closing on little fingers.
bayhaysay
My parents got hayden a wooden one at Hobby Lobby. I didn't want one of the plastic ones because the only ones we could find didn't match his room which is done in hunting and fishing stuff. starshine
My son has had the same toy box for about 8 years and it's a huge tote. My mom bought it and it's the best toy box there is. It's probably about 4 and a half feet long and two and a half wide it's very deep and it hold a ton of toys. It's also cheaper then the Little Tykes ones and you could have your son help decorate it with stickers or something of that nature.
shopping mom
We have used the storage bins on the rack sold at Target. I like it because she can see what she wants to play with and does not need to pull eerything out. She can also carry a bin to another room and it is easier for her to pick up when she is done. This might not be big enough for you but it works really well for us. Her dolls and stuffed animals are in one of those nets, favorites are on the bed or in a small chair. A few bigger toys are under the bed. She can easily get to everything and easily put it away as well.
elena_398
Little Tykes and Step 2 are the best. Stand up to just about everything.
sapphire
the tote sounds nice but i assume hard to find the non-slaming lids is a plus onthe little tykes...didnt think of that thanks
scrabbler
I got my son a wooden one when he was quite small. Put his feet in finger paints and put his footprints, his name and the date on the top of the toybox. After it dried, I put a resin on top and then I had a keepsake and a toybox. He is now 14 and the toybox is gone but the lid lives with us forever.

NeepNeep
I had a Little Tykes box for my daughter many years ago. Lasted forever and was handed down to my cousin's kids.
vonnyb
Little Tykes is very good ! Our Neighbor gave us one that I thought was relatively new but found out that her kids had had it for a very long time and they are now 10 and 15.
