(Rumored) Black Friday TVs at Wal-Mart

They'll have several models....

They blitzed the 23" Durabrand tube model last year for $99 and my WalMart spent about 3 months trying to get rid of them all (after they dropped them to $88).

But the 7" Durabrand portable DVD players and 15" Symphonic LCD TVs all went in about 30 minutes.

So unless the TV is a flat screen or LCD, it's not going to be worthwhile.

Yep, our Walmart had them for months after. I don't know how long they got before they finally sold them all.

Yep, the LCDs were sold very quickly. I only noticed them because they were right beside the computer last year.

I have my fingers crossed that they will have one or the other. We need a new tv for our room.

Fixed.

Yep, my supercenter still had them for $88 when I got one of them in June of this year. :D

I got a 20" TV from Walmart on BF about 6 years ago and it's still working well. I also got a VCR at the same time. Can't remember the TV brand (it was the hot $98 deal) but I did get the Symphonic VCR. Both have done really well over the years, and just recently we got rid of the VCR, only b/c we don't have any more VCR tapes.

I've bought TV's and DVD players at Walmart on BF and have never had any problems with them. I bought the first DVD's Walmart sold on BF years ago and it works better then the one I paid $400 for.

Tell me about it I bought a DVD player for around $300 a couple of years ago and I have found a lot of Dvd's will not play right on it I am guessing because of copyright protection schemes. But the one that I bought at a Blitz for $30 or less worked with all the dvds right away. I was wondering if Wal-Mart is doing away with the Lay-A-Way this year for Black Friday what this will mean for the big ticket items. If you have to pay for it right then or at the least put it on credit what will the availability of high priced items be. Just wondering. Thank You.

With regards to electronics brought at Wal-Mart, I've always thought "You get what you pay for". I've brought several of the cheaper DVD players for the kids' rooms and it's been hit and miss. We're gotten players that are still going after 3 years and others that were done after 3 months. Not sure if I'd gamble on something larger.

I see people walking out the door with three or more tvs every year. It is rather shocking to watch them go. I remember when they did the DVD players and people were ripping the plastic off of them in a frenzy. Saw one lady fill up two carts with them and her son had 4 tvs set aside. Scary!

It is scary to watch them go get all those deals I really think that they should limit the amount that people should be able to buy of the big items. Also when you see those people at the start running it just looks almost like a riot.

Analog TV will be dirt cheap because will soon be going digital signal and than they won't be able to give away the old analog ones. if you still have an analog when signal changes to digital will need a converter box. Happy BF shopping and don't get run over. Crazy!!

Layaway ends the week before Black Friday. The Final Day to make a new layaway is Nove 19th and the Final Day to pick up ALL Layaways is Dec. 8th. Yes you have to buy them out right or put them on the CC. I know they are going to offer a 90 day same as cash sort of deal and $20 cash back if you put $100 or over on the Wal-mart CC. But not sure exactly when they will be offering it.
