Do you use your Christmas bonuses strictly for BF?

My husband does get a good christmas bonus, but oddly enough he doesn't get it till after the first of the year. God only knows why they call it that. A lot of it will pay my medical bills this year. But the rest will pay off my credit card as I will charge most of the BF purchased this year

Christmas bonus? Hah! I don't get one. DH got 3 rolls of wrapping paper last year... granted it was heavy, pretty wrapping paper... :)

Last year, my wife got one equal to a week's salary. This year, at a new job, we don't know what it will be, we are hoping for the same.

Of course, being self-employed, I get nothing.

Back when I sold cars, all the salesmen got $100 bill and a free turkey.

My husband and I get gainsharing at our jobs. The amount we get could be a lot or nothing at all if the company does badly. Either way, we don't get it until after Black Friday. We get a large percentage of it in December and the rest in January. Since I don't do credit cards, I'll be spending money that I've saved for Black Friday.

my boss is very generous and we get a nice christmas bonus $$

however we usually get it the last day we work before christmas

so it does no good for Christmas shopping:worried:

My friends husband works for a prestigious law firm in Boston

and their end of the year bonus is based on how well the firm

did during the past year. Last year he got over $90,000!! Wow

did she marry well or what, I am jealous. Thats a few years salary for

me. And the bonus is in one lump sum and on top of his regular salary,

how depressing for us poor folks:juggle:

Heh, my first Xmas bonus at my prior company was $25. And they took taxes out of it.

I was pissed at the time - looking back tho, it was hilarious. I think I walked out with $12.

I used to get a good chunk at the end of every year. I got a Christmas bonus, year-end bonus, and refund for not using the company's health insurance plan. All told, it usually ended up being around $3000. Now I work for a non-profit, so my Christmas bonus is enough to take my wife out for a nice dinner. I'm making more, though, so the lack of bonus money isn't a problem at all. We used to use the bonus money to take a chunk out of my school loans and then buy ourselves something nice.

I've gotten both a weeks pay or $100 bill - weeks pay is a much better deal :P

Unfortunately, we don't get our Christmas bonus until the middle of December.

However, I'm planning on using a 0% int credit card for BF purchases and then pay it off with the bonus, so I guess :yup:

My husband gets a turkey. He works for UPS so his paychecks do go drastically up around the holidays but he also works a ton more. Sometimes he doesn't get home til after midnight. Poor guy.

Hubby self employed, no bonus. Myself, work for the school district as a classified employee so we are paid the 15th of each month so my check in November (from the hours in October) do go straight to BF!! That's our 'bonus', my paycheck! LOL
