Press release: Kohl’s Delivers More Gifts, Great Prices and New Store Experiences This Holiday

Change is not always welcome.

  • I have a Kohls card, enjoy coupons, discounts, and the continuous rotation of merchandise year-round.  BUT, I am not thrilled with the Sephora 'experience'.  A significant chunk of the store has been repurposed for items that do not interest me or, apparently, anyone else.
  • I think it's great that Kohls accepts Amazon returns, BUT every time I use their return or pickup options, I have to crawl the store to see where they stashed these services.  Generally, these are unstaffed, so I have to find someone to find someone to help me.
  • I cannot remember the last time a shipped product arrived in a condition I would gift.  This is not peculiar to Kohls.  Target and Amazon ship damaged packages as well.
  • They are in the process of resetting the store.  Nobody knows where anything is and there is a lot less stuff to choose from.
  • Finally, it seems like coupons can be applied to less and less each year.

I still shop Kohls, but a lot less and I buy a lot less when I do shop.

Kohl's will forever be a rare sale/clearance shop store to me. Their regular prices are sky high and while a lot of places aren't far off these days, they still win highest for me across the board. I like the idea of the Rewards Visa with no annual fee but have enough cards and wouldn't really use the benefits regularly. We're down to 1 store locally so I'm thinking BF will be mostly be online this year as it's mostly out of the way, IF at all. At this point, I'd love some clothes that fits (both leisure and office wear), sneakers and a travel backpack I fall in love with. We don't need much and gifting is all but done with. I did consider picking up some blankets for gifting at the last sale but I'm sure there's still a couple from the last purchase stashed away.

Last year they changed my Kohls Card to the Visa Rewards card. I wasn't even aware it as happening until my cards showed up in the mail.

I love their clearance sales. Their BF sales are a hit or miss for me.

My sister's Kohls card was changed to the Visa rewards card too. And just like you, she wasn't aware it was going to happen.

Amen.  My last 'deal' was a Elite Cuisine French Door Oven with Rotisserie, Convection and Separate Top and Bottom Heating Controls (kohls.com) for which I paid <$100.  While I'd give it five stars, I could only recommend it to a few people.

  • The toaster oven is huge.  The cavity is 16.5"x16"x8.5".  I have cooked a seven pound bird on the spit, but six is really the max I would do going forward.
  • It's easy to get things on and off the spit.
  • There are four analog controls.  Top one controls the temp of the top heater, next one is special effects (fans, rotisserie, etc.).  The next one controls the bottom burner.  The bottom is the timer.  The other night, I baked a meatloaf on the bottom shelf and roasted potatoes and veggies on the top.
  • The inside is well lit as long as the machine is in operation.
  • It was cheap.

The $106 order included a thermometer (there is no preheat function) and hand towels (filler to get to $100 to get $20 Kohls Cash).

I agree. I also hate the way prices change every few days by quite a bit.

The Amazon delivery part used to be in the front of the store and easily found. I don't know where it is in my local store now.

I liked it better when it was just Kohl's.

Kohl's has never been my go-to store... most of their women's clothing aren't my style and they're pricey, although I have bought a few dresses from there and a pair or two of boots but only during BF sales... I mainly buy the throws, candles and Christmas socks during BF...

I used to work at Kohls awhile go, and it was GREAT! My one and only BF working retail, and it was the best.

My store now is so sad. We don't have a big fancy Sephora - just big completely empty jewelry cases you see as soon as you get in. One side of registers they completely took out. They are down to a bare bones staff also, and it shows. I wear nice work shirts, and I used to get them there, but every time I buy one I like - when I do to buy another tone, they don't have it or they don't even carry the brand anymore.

I did receive an e-mail about the charge card being changed - but I don't use credit cards anymore and don't WANT to use an actual credit card. So I am about to stop shopping there I think. They claim it will all be like the old card, but I don't believe them.

We have a Sephora. It takes up a good part of the store. I agree that if you like an item you best buy extra as soon as possible or they will not carry it any more. I used to shop there a lot but not so much now.

I don't remember getting an email about credit card changes, but they all seem to be changing for the worse.

It's so weird that they haven't changed that to a Sephora. I feel like it's just so weird to have Sephora in Kohl's anyway.

Kohls used to be my go to for so many things but now they have stopped allowing the coupons on most of what I need.  I have grandkids that are babies and Kohls has stopped allowing most baby items to use coupons.  So yeah its great I got 40% off but when you aren't going to buy anything now its pointless.  I think they are going to go through a big shakeup next year IMO.   they can't keep going down this road.

Yes, I was going to get some pants and 1 other item. Went to check out and 1 pair of pants you couldn't use coupons on! And they were $50!! for pants on a Black Friday sale. Took them out of the cart, and now I had to pay shipping, even though I am a VIP or whatever, Shouldn't have to pay shipping at all, but whatever, there was no code so I just gave up and bought nothing. I don't like that the kohl's card is now a generic credit card either.

Is it?  I got my new card but honestly didn't pay any attention to it and just registered/activated it.  Maybe I should read when they send me things. DOH

Honestly the only thing I consistently get from Kohl’s are bras when they are steeply discounted for Black Friday. I have had good luck with one of the bath towel brands there too, but honestly because they have held up well I don’t need them that often. I’ll use their kohl’s cash on the brands that their coupons won’t work on.

I agree that too many things are excluded from the coupons.

I guess I haven't gotten their new credit card. Must be trying to get you to use it other places or something.

I have found some of the items I could only find at Kohl's on Amazon at a much lower price. They seem to be the same quality .

I try not to go to Kohl's near opening on Black Friday because the lines were super long the few times I went. I prefer to shop online for Kohl's and have stuff shipped to out of state relatives. That usually works...but one year they shipped the stuff to me even though I put a different address and said they couldn't change it even though I called as soon as I got the email confirmation and the shipping address had been changed to mine. Now I'm hesitant to order stuff for another address.
