I hope all of you in the n'oreasters path stay safe  in the next 36 hours.

They are predicting 20" -- I'll believe it when I see it!  Just the same, snowblower is full of gas, gas in the generator, and a can full just in case we actually lose power.  All the things that promise a dusting.

When is the snow supposed to hit in the east?  Hope everyone stays safe and warm!

I'm on the New Hampshire seacoast, so that's about as northeast as you can get.  It's been snowing here since before daylight.  We probably have three inches now.  It's powdery, as predicted.  Just put some pork ribs in the slow cooker.  My child is still in bed.  Probably was a mistake to get him flannel sheets, a fleece blanket, a comforter, and a heavy comforter.  May not see much of him until spring.

My son Beorn, now 28 years old but still on the spectrum, will only sleep on flannel sheets, even though he lives in Florida. He claims everything else is too stiff or rough, no matter how soft I can get them.

I can only imagine he would go in to full hibernation if I were to spring for a fleece blanket...

Last weekend in January....still on this weather roller-coaster.

Where do you live?  In New Hampshire, winter begins in February.  In fact, February and March are our winter.  The good news is that the Global Warming crowd will be hibernating for a couple weeks as we are buried in climate.

He's right, of course.

Do it. Your purpose in life is to make your kids' life more wonderful.

We got a little snow overnight here in South Atlanta. It was gone by noon, but still exciting. :) Usually if GA gets snow it's further north of here. It's been 4 or 5 years since we've seen any. It wasn't expected either, so that was a big surprise when I woke up!

Missouri

My bus is like an old fashioned ice box at 5am and by 1:00 we are opening windows

I need to get a new snow blower. Just can’t decide if I want battery powered or gas.

It depends on the reliability of your electricity source during an emergency, the amount of snow you expect to clear, and the size of the area you need to keep clear, but you probably want gas.  If it's cold enough for meaningful snow, it's cold enough to impact battery performance.  Unless you have a generator, you may not be able to clear your driveway during a power outage.

Power here is pretty stable. I think I am going to end up with another gas one though. Probably just going to pick up a used one from FB Marketplace for now and maybe order a good battery one when the end of season sales happen this year.

Well ended up picking up a brand new Airens gas snow blower from Lowes. Prices were stupid on used.

Happy February! Had a romantic getaway with my hubby last week. I promised myself that if I survived all of that mess in the hospital, that once I got the "all clear" from the Dr. I was going to take him away for a special getaway. He had no clue. I packed his bags and then took him to lunch before taking him to our getaway. It was a total surprise right up until the swat team was blocking the entrance to our fancy getaway, lol. Rented a casita at Casino Morongo. It was actually pretty nice. Private heated pool, fireplace, jetted tub, large walk-in shower, etc.
