October 19-22: hundreds of Black Friday deals available early (I'm guessing we'll see the full ad this day)

November 19th: Best Buy starts their Black Friday sale a full week before Black Friday this year

Will be interesting to see if they save doorbusters for the actual BF day or if you'll have to score everything on the 19th in store and online.

They'll also have Member Mondays with with deals for My Best Buy members as well as a new price adjustment policy:

"All of the deals in our Oct. 19 sale are covered by our Black Friday Price Guarantee, which means the price won’t go lower before Black Friday. If it does, we’ll automatically refund our My Best Buy and Best Buy Totaltech members the difference. No need to email or show us your receipt, just money back in your pocket."

I would fully expect their ad to be a 2 parter like years past. We'll see their online only sales 1st and they will prob publish their VERY limited in-store BF sales the week of TG. They are expecting shortages on their biggest ticket items plus they are still in a covid protocal world.

Doubt we will see any PS5s, Xbox Series X, Switch OLEDs this year in store.

I knew it. They are all about to roll out. WM and Target are not going to let BB get all of our money first. Let the BF Wars begin

I wonder if this 1) blindsided Target and Walmart and they are scrambling to pull something together, or 2) Target and Walmart anticipated things like this happening due to last years spread out shopping season and have a prepared response that will be announced shortly. I feel like last year and this year have been incredibly difficult to anticipate in comparison to prior holiday shopping seasons and that their ad and sales teams are going to be forced to struggle to adapt all season long due to the ever changing circumstances.

I remember there was a time (about a decade or so ago) when a certain leader said that Walmart was not a competitor of Best Buy, oh how the times have changed!

  • 2 weeks later...
I caught a killer deal on the 23rd. I wanted the new simplisafe outdoor camera. They run $170 each. BB had a set with 2 outdoor cameras and a bunch of other stuff for $238, $100 cheaper than buying the cameras by themselves! My sister and I both bought one.
