AFB Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 Full version, but OEM is fine. Most of the really cheap ones say only for <manufacturer>'s computers. Do they work on others? Thanks guys :)
RossMAN Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I would also be weary of certain OEM Windows XP Home CD's. If you want a troublefree solution, buy a Windows XP Home Upgrade for $89 at your local CostCo B&M. If you want to buy online here are some prices from PriceGrabber.com, narrow down the selection on the left. LOL NewEgg.com sells it for $91 with free shipping and $84 from MWave.com with the purchase of qualified hardware.
bockchow Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 if you already have an XP install disc you can just buy COA's for $25. your better off not useing the original CD anyway just install with a slipstream cd
AFB Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 Where can you get COA's? I already have the retail XP Home & OEM XP Pro. Thanks
bockchow Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 i get them from dbwillis from Anandtech. he hasn't been hanging out at AT lately but he's still selling them. i'll PM you his email addy.
AFB Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 You know if these are OEM or Retail? <-- Emailed him
bockchow Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 i'm not sure what the difference is so i don't know.
