Gurnee Al
I was just looking through the Sears July 4th sale ad, and noticed that they have a few MIR offers. In fine print below those ads, it mentions that the MIR is an Instant Rebate in CT. Anyone live in CT and/or know why??
Guest mldepalma
I live in CT, but I have no idea why a MIR would be an IR in CT. If I get to Sears, I can ask for you... It is afterhours now, but if I think of it, I can call tomorrow and ask... Seems a little odd to me. (Not that I am complaining since I live in CT and would get the instant rebate...) Do you live near CT to be able to shop here and then take it home? (You can remind me tomorrow to call... just PM me)
Gurnee Al
I'm in Illinois, but just curious. Apparently, the Sears sale ad is a National ad. I'll be curious to see if anyone else here knows or what you find out tomorrow.
Stowasser
I bet CT has a statue about mail in rebates, maybe they have gotten so many complaints that stores that offer it must do instant rebates. I don't understand why Sears doesn't just do free shipping etc instead of the mail in. I guess alot of people don't bother with sending in the rebates. They can see the address, you would think they would check the final price etc. I have been rejected on MIR for items that I knew was included, they just wanted to make it hard and not honor it. Gurnee Al
i dont see any 4th of july sale there. do you have a link to the july 4th ad?It was an insert in my local newspaper. http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/leg_press/2002/march/iwuc%20rebates.htmIt's been like this for years! I don't think I've ever seen anyone else advertise MIRs as IRs in CT. I wonder if this is for B&M merchants only. Apparently other merchants don't put this in their ads. conj
http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/leg_press/2002/march/iwuc%20rebates.htm Oh, I like that! I think I'm sending a copy of that to my local legislator! Although... Rebate processing centers may lobby against the measures :)
