GottaDEAL

ING Direct has once again just raised their rate of interest for their Orange Savings Account to 4.25%. ING Direct is FDIC insured just like other banks are but since they are a .com with no physical branches there is little or no overhead. Savings are therefore passed on to their customers - that would be you. No minimum deposit, No hidden fees or service charges and get 24-hour access to your account.

ING Direct Raises Orange Savings Account Interest Rate to 4.25% - ING Direct

mrn8
Many members here use ING direct and they are an excellent place to save. Find a local bank for me that can offer 4.25% saving. Not going to happen.
mrn8
You are missing referal bonus' for one thing. For the past few years I've been able to get 2-3 referals per year. To make of that $20-$30 I make, you'd have to have $5000 or more in savings for that 4 tenths of a percent to even break even. I'm not telling you to switch your savings, I'm just saying that a savings account that offers you 4.25% + a $10 bonus for referals is still very good. inogenius
You bring up a good point. However for the majority of users, you stand the chance to make considerbly more in referral bonuses than you would for the higher interest rates. ING's interface and customer service can't be beat either.
USC Becca
*sigh* PotLuck, potomacXing, and all your other aliases, Who are you to be saying such things, NewHorizon, logging in under a ton of different names to misrepresent yourself as a bunch of different "concerned" people? *That* is about the shadiest thing I've ever heard of. And yes, we're not stupid here, we've figured it out. This issue has been hashed out repeatedly. Participation here is VOLUNTARY - if you don't like it, leave already! Confused: Emigrant Direct has online savings offering 4.65%APY as does HSBC.Don't these "deals" rate with Mr. GottaDeal?Local bank < ING < HSBC,Emigrant What am I missing?Ah, ok. Without that important info, the OP is confusing, imo.(I don't mince words, do I? ) FWIW, looks like HSBC might be offering $25 to sign up:http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=39209Didn't want to overlook that. Sorry, guys. I don't mean to annoy a great bunch of people here, but GottaDeal's post bothers me. If my best friend came to me for advice about online savings accounts, ethically I would not withhold information about referrals, HSBC, or Emigrant and leave her to think that ING is the best deal out there - period. I mean why would I do that to her? The only reason that occurs to me is that I'd want to pocket the referral $$. No, I don't think I could do that. But many have told me I'm naive. ... and you can too.
