So this is good "as-is"? (meaning I wouldn't need to upgrade this and upgrade that?)

A computer (laptop or desktop) for me is used strictly for "fun". Chat, IM's, GottaDeal, online banking, paying bills online, etc. Not much of a game person, but I do want to be able to watch DVD's.

I found a couple others that have tempted me, but one was a Gateway, and I'm not too crazy about having a Gateway, and the other was a Cisnet, but I've never heard of this brand.

Hmmmm..... this is very tempting.

Kim,

Good:

No rebates!!!

512MB RAM - you won't have to upgrade RAM which is nice.

Combo CD-RW/DVD you can burn CD's or watch DVD movies

WiFi included

Bad:

Battery life is poor maybe 1.5 hours

Verdict: BUY IT!

If you have a CitiBank or American Express credit card use that to pay for this laptop.

Is there an expiration date on this offer? (like in the next 48 hours?)

I think this is the one I'm going to go with. Will probably order it tomorrow evening

Thanks RossMAN, you're the bestest deal finder. :D

This should expire very soon, it may be gone by tomorrow night. Then you'll have to pay closer to $600.

Any reason you can't order tonight?

Only that I'm a procrastinator. hehehe

Actually I could go ahead and order it tonight. My sister is repaying $$ that I had loaned her to buy a desktop a while back, so I was just going to use that to buy the laptop. It's almost like getting it for free, because I never really thought she'd pay me back. ;)

If you can afford another $121, here is a 10x better deal:

Dell XPS M140 for $588

Comparison of XPS M140 vs Inspiron B120, better components are in bold:

  • Pentium-M 1.73GHz vs Celeron 1.40GHz
  • Windows MCE 2005 vs XP Home
  • 60GB Hard Drive vs 40GB
  • DVD Burner vs combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM
  • 9 cell battery (6.5 hours) vs 4 cell (1.5 hours)
  • XPS support vs Inspiron support
All those upgrades for only $121 more is a very sweet deal. The 9 cell battery itself costs a whopping $134.95.

You have a PM.

Just out of curiosity (and you know I'm so technology challanged), what's Windows MCE 2005??

This has seemed like the sloooooowest 3-5 day shipping!! :(

Shipped on 5/25 from Patrick, NV (origin scan at 12:52pm)

Departure scan from San Pablo, CA on 5/26 at 2:23am

and then nothing... no updates since then. (I realize there's a weekend and a holiday that delays it a little bit too)

Scheduled delivery is 6/2

*sigh*

I'm such an impatient procrastinator
