decaff38
I am in search of a GREAT deal on the new styled washer and dryer that front load and are energy efficent. THey are quite $$$ . I would be happy with a chip or dent sale. Any great ideas?

fairydustcrissy
Check your local home improvement stores. I was in Home Depot the other day, and they had 3 display models of the Maytag Neptunes, for ~$300 each. I I remember correctly, that was about half off. They looked great, and it seemed to be a great price.
USC Becca
At Home Depot, if there are still doing it, you get some nice percentage off if you sign up for and use their credit card for the purchase, so that would make it even better
RossMAN
Some Home Depot and Lowe's stores have 10% off coupons available.
biomajor
Check the Neptune reviews before you decide to buy it. I bought mine 4 years ago and have had a class action lawsuit and for a while was on a first name basis with the Sears repairman. They finally replaced the control board, the wax motor (yes, apparently the motor is made of wax somehow??) I bought the dryer at the same time and it has only had one service call in the 4 years. The automatic sensor became wrapped around a sweater and pulled out and broke off when I had it for a week.
222deal
Also, if you have a Sears Outlet near you, it is worth going in there. Last time I was in there were literally dozens of the front loading, energy star w/d. Some have a scratch on the top or back and others are just odd colors. Price varies but I saw plenty in great shape with just minor cosmetic flaws that you don't really notice for $400-$500. These retail for twice that new. Also, you can pick up the pedastools there as well. I know it seems a lot of money for those but trust me it is well worth it.
