Rockfordmom Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Do they provide any of the materials at this? that would be great! PLMKthanks!the one's that I have been to you don't have to bring anything they supply everything, they are showing you new techniques or new products & they hope that you buy something I think, the pages are usually pretty nice that you make but I will have to say that the last time that I went we made a page with a lot on it and when we were all done everyone was wondering where you would put a picture on it because there was no room left for any pictures and they suggested that you use it as a title page, but I'm not complaining because it was free and I got out of the house for a couple of hours and usually at the end they draw someones name for some scrapbooking supplies sometimes a basketfull. they sometimes have you make a page and then you make cards which also use the same techniques and supplies as scrapbooking.hope you have fun, I plan on going this saturday.

This sounds like fun! I am gonna ask my mom if she will watch all three kids so I can go to this. Hopefully she will. Thanks for letting us know what it is like.
duckbrain Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I might bring my 4yo DD...Is that too young? It sounds like fun! Thanks for the insight Rockfordmom!
Rockfordmom Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I might bring my 4yo DD...Is that too young? It sounds like fun! Thanks for the insight Rockfordmom! The couple that I've been to nobody has brought their children, sometimes they have scrapbooking & cardmaking classes specifically for moms & kids, but I haven't seen it said or written anywhere that you can't bring your kids. Also you may want to get there a little early, sometimes a lot of people go & the tables are crowded. It seems like either a lot of people are there or only 1 or 2. And you have to be there to win the basket of supplies, and they give it away at the end to get you to stay for the whole time, that's the way that they do it at the one that I go to. Other stores may do it differently.
jcarr492 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 can someone check the papers for me? are they acid/lignin free and buffered? only asking because I use creative memories but would love to find more affordable papers to use. and the closest michaels to me is about 70miles away.

What's buffered mean? They both say 80 lb. uncoated true 12x12" paper.Hope this Helps!
baraginfinder Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 If you look on the Michaels web site it shows the projects they will be making Saturday. I have brought my daughter to these in the past (she's 7) and she had a good time.
