Hey GottaDeal Members!

I have a friend that is in the market to use a "TO GO" plan and phone. Carrier doesn't really matter, Cingular or T-mobile. He is just looking for the best deal, even if it requires a mail in rebate. Anyone know of any hot deals?

cheapest one is t-mobile. there is a phone with $10 airtime for $40 at walmart or target.

the problem is there is no way you can just buy a sim card and activate it. it always bundled with a phone.

So there aren't any TO GO phones that you can put in an existing SIM card into? He is currently with t-mobile, but hardly ever uses his phone so he figured he would be saving a lot if he just used TO GO services.

If he currently uses T-Mobile, he can just purchase a prepaid SIM (basically just paying for air time) and put it in his existing phone.

I went even to the t-mobile stores to find out if we can just get a sim card. Unlike their counterpart at the foreign countries, US cell phones just won't cell the sim card alone.

mrn8, do you know where one can get a prepaid sim card?

Telestial? are they a sub company of one of the cell phone carriers? How would one of their SIM cards work and what network would you be attached to?

For US sims, they only sell prepaid ones for T-Mobile. Telestial sells Cell Phone companies sims as a service to travelers, basically. A lot of international businesses use them to buy phone time when they travel.
