mackeeg
Hubby is heading to Boston as I type. Where is the best place to buy PORTUGUESE CHORIZO? We ate it all the time when we lived in Fall River, Mass. I used to work at Al Mac's Diner there and bought it from the diner. So is there anyplace in Boston that sells the good stuff? I guess he could drive down to Fall River and get some. What meat market would you suggest there?

Guest jkc
there is, however, a spanish version, which differs from the mexican variety in that it is ready-to-eat (smoked). primarily an appetizer, often found in tapas bars. a portogesa would be highly offended if linguica was confused with the much more common chorizo (and much cheaper) unless you meant chouricao, which is something else. all of the above available at Amaral's in New Bedford, by the way.
