magickallight
We had SUCH a wonderful Christmas - Santa was extra good to all of us. I am having a BLAST watching my dog play with her new Kong Wubba toy - she has been through a major operation for cancer this year and I am so thankful to have her still with me... she is acting like a puppy again playing with her new toy... actually bringing tears of joy to my eyes! What were the HIT gifts at your house?
Spice9195
Everything was awesome but even better is you being able to celebrate another Christmas with your dog, magickallight.

shopping4my3son
My youngest loves his little guitar. It was the $10 one from Walmart on Black Friday. Plus all the Olaf/Frozen stuff. He's played with it more than the wii. My middle likes his n scale train set and a model mustang. My husband likes the robie house lego set. I think my oldest was disappointed he didn't get a ps4 but I won't buy him video game systems anymore.... My husband bought me an antique sleigh! He plans on refurbishing it. The kids even knew he got it but didn't tell me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pogiporkchop
Here's a surprising one: DS says he was most excited about both but I think the $50 Roblox gift card was a bigger hit than the iPad mini!

Gator Pam
Of the presents I gave, three items went over really well here: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0Mg==/$%28KGrHqFHJB0E63%28J%28c7uBO%29qlnh,VQ~~60_35.JPGA buffalo-themed tie-dye tee shirt for George. Everyone here other than George has tie-dye, and George's totem is the buffalo. http://img.banggood.com/images/upload/2012/chenjianwei/SKU078173.32.jpgA quadcopter drone as a Hanukkah present both here and for Beorn back in Florida. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Y9lf6EtLL._SY355_.jpgOlaf with throw for Brenda, who loves snowmen. Of the gifts I received, I think my favorite is the new jeweley box Brenda gave me. I've never been much of a jewelry wearer, and have started getting some necklaces and earrings to wear to work. But I was keeping them in the boxes they came in inside a drawer, and the boxes were getting beat up. Brenda found a lovely paisly designed jewelry box. It's perfect! http://media.kohls.com.edgesuite.net/is/image/kohls/1886765_ALT?wid=250&hei=250&op_sharpen=1
HansieDZ
I love reading about everyone's HITS every year! With all the thinking, planning, saving and shopping we do for so long, the reward comes when we see the happy faces on our loved ones when they open their gifts It all makes it worthwhile then. I will share just a couple of very special gifts we received this year:Many of you know that my beloved husband passed away (thank you for the kind words of sympathy from so many GD friends!) on Nov.24 so our Christmas was a little different. While he was still able to walk with the aid of crutches,he "walked" his daughters down the aisle at my niece's wedding in September. Knowing that he would never actually be able to be there for their weddings made this so very special. Well, his sister (mom of the bride) had the pictures of him and the girls blown up and put in pretty frames. She also gave the girls lockets with their and their dad's pictures in them. Also,my sisters-in-law made me and Matt's mom a bracelet and earrings made from the flowers at his funeral. I had asked them to make rosaries from the flowers for the girls to carry on their wedding day but the jewelry was a touching surprise! But the most special thing was what my best friend had made for me. It was a pillow made from one of his shirts with an embroidered patch with the words, "This is a shirt I used to wear.Whenever you hold it Know that I am near. Love,Matt".That gift is something I will always,till-I-die, treasure.I hug this pillow every night as I go to sleep.
hockeyfanamo
Three biggest hits this year....1. Framed sonogram picture for my Mamaw. She was convinced she wouldn't live to see a great grandchild from me.2. Meat branding iron for my male cousin. He was seriously stoked about that!3. Colorful monkey toy for the mutts. The Pug unwrapped it and the Shepherd hasn't set it down since.Favorite gift I received was Dallas Sidekicks tickets and hotel stay for the 1/3 alumni game.
riven3d
of all the stuff we got my daughter this year the biggest hit with her is the Samsung Galaxy 3 Tablet for the past 2 days all she has done is play on it
HanShotFirst
The Plush Grumpy Cat I gave my 40-yr old sister was probably the biggest hit of the night for my family. LOL. My 72-yr old Dad is tickled over getting a laptop too. We finally had time to get it set up for him last night and he's been on it nonstop.

momlori
My DH loved the offset printed penny. It was not his big gift but the one that most intrigued him and held his attention
wittenlover
I was excited to send a dear friend a big box of goodies and it was my hit of the season. He knew he'd be getting some cookies but he had no idea exactly what I was shipping until he got it. Needless to say, he was absolutely thrilled when he opened his box and found not just cookies, but LOTS of cookies, homemade fudge (2 kinds), a custom metal Ford logo key rack (his favorite manufacturer), a gift card to one of his favorite restaurants, and a special Christmas card. I could see and feel his mile-wide grin in his words. He's had a rough year, so I'm glad I brightened it a little.
