ytmomof4 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Last year it started sept 13th so I'm guessing around the same time this year.I can't wait!
gatorburg Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 August 29th this year.Is there any info for this date?
jade2002 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) I've just saw the signs up all over my local Walmart inside and outside. I just came from there picking up a site to store order. I should have taken a picture of the signs, lol. Edited August 23, 2014 by jade2002
angelbabymommy Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Wow! That's early. Wonder when they're gonna put out an official statement... Maybe tomorrow? 1
tyreejames Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Wow! That's early. Wonder when they're gonna put out an official statement... Maybe tomorrow?I'd expect to have already heard considering the 29th is Friday. If they actually are opening it then wouldn't they want to publicize that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They're still pushing for back-to-school sales. I expect to see something in the next week or so. Just found this! Looks like Sept 12 is the start date Edited August 26, 2014 by mommyofanangelb

jade2002 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) And when I go back which should be this evening, maybe tomorrow morning as I have an order to pick up, I will get a pic of the large banner that they have up outside stating that Christmas layaway starts August 29th. I mean, I have no reason to lie or make this up, lol. Here's the phone number if y'all wanna give them a call. I just called myself and was told August 29th.(606) 789 - 8920. angelbabymommy Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Didn't think you were lying at all...sorry if it seemed that way
gatorburg Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Yea!!!!!! My Walmart still has nothing up yet. Not even Halloween out yet lol. But was reading that layaway will be done at service desk this year????
tyreejames Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) Yes, what mommyofanangelb said, didn't think you were lying we were just wondering when an official press release would be made. Your store decided to get a jump on things Edited August 26, 2014 by tyreejames 1
jade2002 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) All items are eligible for layaway this year except for food or parishable items. My local Walmart is anyways, not sure about others since it seems that mine is the only Walmart that has started Christmas layaway. Edited September 2, 2014 by jade2002
gatorburg Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 You are lucky jade2002. The local walmart I go to still has no clue about the layaway yet. It is very hard to find a worker in that walmart anymore Do you have to go to the service desk this year or to walmart.com area?
ytmomof4 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 One of my local walmarts started layaway but the other has not. They told me the 15th.
julz0420 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I called our Walmart. It starts sept 12th here. 1
johjstc Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I went to the Walmart in North Smithfield, RI and was told Layaway starts on the 12th but for associates only, that it didn't start for customers until a week later?! I called another local Walmart and they stated they started on the 12th. Sounds like NS is being sneaky!
magickallight Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Announced today: Walmart will be introducing the new layaway program which begins this Friday, Sept. 12th with a list of eligible products that include toys, entertainment, and sporting goods.
jade2002 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I wonder why layaway is not the same everywhere this year? Hasn't it always been? Ours started August 29th and all items are eligible for layaway except food/parishable items. They have a sign up that says all items are eligble but I was still unsure so I asked a manager back in site to store the other day and she said ALL items were except food. Seems like it would be the same in all locations but I guess not. And gatorbug, layaway is still back in site to store for us.
Midnight55 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 how doea the layway work like they said its free do you have to put down a deposit are is like kmart no money down
gatorburg Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 I called two different walmarts today one said they think the 15th of this month. And the other one said the 12th. And they are not that far from each other. Don't know why Walmart is saying different dates for.
johjstc Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Those are the 2 dates i got as well gatorbug.Maybe some stores are letting associates go first which is what one of my stores said.
gatorburg Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Has anyone tried to put anything in layaway yet? I am going to do it later on today when I go to pick my paycheck up.
