I dont know if this is the correct forum to post it but i am in need of desperate help from you guys. the thing is we were planning on going to new york for christmas , we were going to stay with my cousin in new jersey and then go to new york and see everything there. the problem is that there is a transport strike in NY , so i want to know will it be an intelligent thing to go when the strike is over or should i go now. i want to sightsee alot in NY like empire state building, ground zero. so i need to know if i take my car and not rely on trains where do i park and how much is the parking fees... please help me out !!

i know you were planning this for the holidays...but really NY is a mess without mass transit. Parking will be almost impossible to find, much less pay for. It's relatively easy to get around using the subway...I can't imagine doing it without. Now, I'm not from NY. My dh is & we've been there many times, so I"m just going on my experience. Maybe someone who lives there can give you an accurate current assessment. Good Luck!

You will be able to get into Manhattan with 4 people in the car before 11 AM. After 11 it does not matter how many people are in the car. The stuff you mentyion wanting to see I would just take the PATH trains from NJ and walk around the city.

yep but what about places like Ground zero and other places which will be far ... do you think its worth it or should i wait till NEW years..
