FatRocky Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I bought the Toshiba Laptop on BF and it has stopped working. I have a DVD in it and some important files in it. WHen I go to turn it on all it does is show a armber blinking light. What should I do?
biomajor Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 take the DVD out (there should be a small hole on the dvd drawer cover--use a paperclip and poke it and it should open) and take it back to wherever you got it.
T0mmy Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 make sure the battery is connected properly if that light is the power light. If you have another laptop, you can swap hard drives to get your files out, if not you can take out the harddrive and use a 2.5"-to-3.5" hard drive IDE cable converter and hook up your laptop hard drive to your regular desktop to back up the files. Hope you get it all sorted out.
Gporter34 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Dang, sorry to hear that. I hope you get it all cleared up. I would definitely take it back as soon as possible.
Boyfresh Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Sounds like the motherboard may be fried. I bought a gateway a few months back that did the same thing, all I did was send it in for a warranty repair they had it completed within a week.
davidbugs Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 iF YOU return YET. You have to pay a Restocking FEE FOR 15 Percent:(
RossMAN Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 iF YOU return YET. You have to pay a Restocking FEE FOR 15 Percent:( If it's DEFECTIVE and you get a replacement laptop, usually you are not charged a restocking fee. I would return it ASAP, indicate it is DEFECTIVE and ask for a replacement laptop.
